TIme on My Hands

Food Court - CDG Airport

Just a little update. I may be in Paris for a while longer. I am flying standby and didn't get on the first flight this morning and the rest of the day isn't looking so hot either. Who knows, I could be an airport bag lady and live in Paree after all! Stay tuned for the latest updates.

2:30 pm- I haven't made it on 3 flights now. One more at 4:30 for Atlanta. If I don't make it I'll leave and come back tomorrow. I don't love Paris when I'm on standby!HA

UPDATE: I have decided not to make the trip back to CDG tomorrow. The numbers don't look favorable and I'm going to enjoy a quiet day in Paris and start all over again on Friday when things look better. Stay tuned!

I'm in suspense!

Perhaps you can try to track down Merhan Karimi Nasseri, the man who was living at CDG from at least 1988 - 2004 (still there?) and who the movie "The Terminal" was based! Good luck getting on another flight.

I hope that you made the 4:30 flight. Going back and forth to CDG is not much fun!

I'll be waiting for your next update.

That might not be so bad, I'm sure at least one of your new friends would provide shelter.

WEll Paris Bob, I'm a heartbeat away from being that guy's airport mate! UGH!!!

Starman. Well Peter has the luck of the Irish. He's gone on holiday right now. I do have shelter however where I've been staying in the 5th. The RER/Metro trip back here was not my idea of a fun Paris afternoon. Tomorrow I trek back the way I came. I can hardly wait.

Thank you so much for your photos of my beloved city. I will be there for about 6 hours in September as a layover from England to Germany on the train. You have brightened my days.

taalfaro,
I hope I'm not still there when you blow through in September. Glad you like my photos!

V- Did you make it to my favorite little restaurant in the 5e arr.?

You are lucky to have a place to stay. I know what you mean about the unpleasantness of traveling on the RER with all of your luggage.

Perfect photo to illustrate your predicament!

The selfish part of me loves your predicament just for gorgeous images like this. Stay safe, stay calm and put Eric down.

And . . .things could be worse. You could be attending Institute tomorrow morning and getting your room ready to meet parents and children from 2-4. :)

That's a really good illustration of your predicament.. I wouldn't fly standby, particularly on international, fer nuttin. But then I like to keep some degree of control of my destiny (not to mention my destination).

Jan,
What? School is starting today??? I will hush my mouth about being stuck in Paris! HA I'm off for a pain au chocolat and coffee. Sorry I'll miss the grits and faux eggs at Institute. I do miss you am le Maestro though. Tell him we're on for lunch whenever I get home.

Bob,
I understand but it was the only way I could get back over here. I"ll survive. I"m going to Jardin des Plantes today and stroll and take deep breaths!
