Les Papilles

As is the case many times, I don't take note of the place, just the cheerful jaune, rouge, et orange façade! Les Papilles!

rue de Bac

This could be Peter Olson, but I confess, I'm not sure. Let's just say it is!

Fleurs à Paris

Walking home from Sunday mass at the Vâl de Grace on rue Claude Bernard, I caught Madame Christine Bawedin putting out her lovely flowers at her fleuriste. She was kind enough to let me photograph her and the inside of her shop.

Weekend Reflections - Mon selfie

I love capturing reflection in moto mirrors all over Paris. This day I caught myself, with bad Paris hair.

Today I join James' Weekend Reflections. His friends around the world post their captures right HERE!

Mon nouvel ami

Normally I like to catch people on the street without them being aware I'm there. This day, there were kids running all around the Palais Royal, and this boy stopped and looked at me. I held up my camera, and he was very willing to have me take his photo. A sweet memory.

Bienvenue

These exquisite gates serve as a lovely welcome to Parc Monceau in the 8th arrondissement. It's not in the very center of Paris so is often overlooked. It's a beautiful and quiet park. Put it on your list.

Afternoon at the Mouffetard Café

Oh this brings back so many good memories of days spent along rue Arbalète and rue Mouffetard.

Je ne sais pas

Sometimes while walking as fast as I can,  in order to keep up with my speedy amis, I snap a quick photo, then when I return home and have a look, I have no idea. Today is one of those funny captures with no additional info. Je suis désolé.

Papa et sa petite fille

Papa et sa petite jeune fille. What makes this image especially poignant is that it was taken on the Sunday morning, following the terrorist attacks on Paris just two days before. Parisians marched forth and embraced their normal life that day.

Paris Windows

 Rue de Crémieux

This day, Mary and I had walked what seemed half of Paris with Peter. I was almost done, but Peter offered Rue Crémieux, and I said I thought I could walk a few steps more. I love this little street. Worth the effort.

Fleuristes à Paris

Since discovering this beautiful shop in 2014, I find myself returning each trip. Stepping inside is like finding yourself enveloped in exquisite bouquets from floor to ceiling. Put it on your list!

Dimanche à rue Mouffetard

The locals who gather on rue Mouffetard each Sunday, are really good! I guess they get a lot of practice.

Old Favorite

This photograph was taken in June, 2010 as Mary and I walked to the Musée d'Orsay to meet friends. I"ve always loved this Galeries Lafayette ad, so I thought it would be fun to recycle this image!

Waiting For the Métro

Coming from a city with no real public transportation system, I'm a big fan of the Paris Metro and bus system.  It's fast, cheap and aside from the stairs that I curse frequently, a great way to get around Paris.

Petit garçon avec son baton

A sunny Sunday at the Jardin du Luxembourg means families in Paris enjoying the nice weather and the children with their batons and sailboats!

Ecoute - The Listener

Located on Place René Cassin, just outside Église Saint-Eustache, Henri Miller's enormous sculpture, Ecoute, depicts an enormous head resting in a hand. The public art, combining old Paris architecture with new and eclectic art is yet another reason I love Paris.

Spinelli et Sivel

One of the most unusual gravesite at  Cimetière de Père-Lachaise, has to be the resting place of Spinelli et Sivel. They died in a balloon accident in 1875 and are buried together in this beautiful gravesite. As a photographer, the coloration on the monument intrigued me.

Sunday Church Series - Basilique royale de Saint-Denis

This is a church that  you must put on your list when visiting Paris. The resting place of most of France's royalty and their families, it is considered the royal necropolis of France.  Located in a northern suburb of Paris, it is one of the most beautiful churches I've visited in Paris.

Jardin d'acclimatation

Located in the Bois de Boulogne, the Jardin d'acclimatation , is the place go with kids in Paris. It's part amusement park, park garden ( shown here), petting zoo, playgournd, boat rides and much more. Eva and Davis loved the day we spent here.

City Daily Photo Theme Day - Nature

Now, more than ever, I admire the French for their commitment to environmental issues. Throughout Paris, you see more and more vertical living gardens/living walls. I photographed this at Le BHV Marais L'homme.  More at Musée Quai Branley and across Paris, reflect Paris' focus on environmental issues that affect our planet.

Today I join my fellow City Daily Photobloggers for our Theme Day - Nature! Click HERE to see all of their posts on our monthly theme!
