Looking Heavenward

I'm not sure if she's an angel, but I think this is one of the loveliest statues I've seen at Père Lachaise or any other cemetery.

I love the NO PC's sign on a typical French chalkboard ! Merci.

Le Balcon - Marly le Roi

Marly le Roi didn't have as many balconies with ironwork as Paris, but I found this one charming, although in need of a little care.

Café Crème Pour Deux

Do you think they'll notice if I slip one of these cup and saucer's in my purse as I leave?

What says Paris more than the gleaming zinc bars in Paris.

Les Jardins

It seems no matter the season, the city of Paris finds something unusual for the plaza in front of the gorgeous Hôtel de Ville.  In June 2010, the whole place was turned into raised bed gardens of all kinds

Signes du samedi - L'hôtel

Simple and to the point.  I love these black and white hôtel signs all over Paris.

Boutons

Today we take another peek inside Ultramod Mercerie.  As you recall, it is chock full of every type sewing item you might ever want.  This is just a taste of the button selection.  A wonderful treasure trove for seamstresses and photographers.

Beaucoup des livres

No matter how many times I visit Paris, I always need a stop at Shakespeare & Company.  They always have interesting displays and customers to photograph as well.

Reconnaisant

Sometimes the photographer has to lay the camera down and savor the moment.  There wasn't much water in the fountain, but the rain had stopped and the sun was out at the Palais Royal.   I was exceedingly grateful to be in that place on such a beautiful Sunday in Paris.

Une nouvelle vie

In all the cemeteries I've visited in Paris, there have always been these lovely porcelain flowers, wreaths and crosses on the graves.  I think as they age and darken, they become more beautiful.  In January, as we walked Père Lachaise again, I spotted this moss growing amongst the petals.

Le chapeau de Monsieur

A crisp straw hat and a denim shirt. Must be a Parisian... or maybe not.

Today I join James' Weekend Reflections right here!

Pique-nique à Paris I

This day, there were swarms of Parisian schoolchildren running amok.  I've certainly been on far worse field trips in my day!

Sunday Church Series - Le candélabre

If you are visiting the Louvre, cross the street and visit this magnificent church. The chimes from the bell tower are worth a little wait.

Heureux

When in Paris, I want to see FRENCH not anglais.

Cacahuètes

I don't think I've ever been served cacahuètes ( you wouldn't believe how long it took me to learn to pronounce that) with the shells before in Paris.  How nice they provide an empty glass for the shells.  A little taste of Alabama in Paris!

CDP Theme Day - Pedestrian Crossing

This month City Daily Photobloggers around the globe are posting their take on this month's theme - Pedestrian Crossing.  Piece o' cake for me.  I stood in front of this mural at Place Vendôme and waited f a bit for this.  As for the mural, it's covering major renovation to the Hôtel Ritz Paris for now. (I'm including a smaller view. As you can see, they've not done much of a job of covering it.)  If you are anxious to spend 850+ euros a night for a room or 3600+ euros for a suite, sadly you must wait until 2014 for the reopening.
