Table/Chair Series - Vieux
Sometimes when I download my photos from Paris I ask myself why I took a particular shot. This is one of those. I think it would be more interesting if there were people in the photo but I loved the curtains and the etching of curtains on the glass, and the warm wood everywhere. Certainly not one of your more hip Paris cafés with bright chairs and all. Maybe that is exactly why I took this shot.

Très mignon
You know how I feel about the children. Isn't he just the most precious with those pink cheeks and nose on a cold January day!

Pass the moutarde
Maille has been selling mustards, vinegars and oils since 1747. This specialty shop at Place de Madeleine features a staggering variety of seasonal and specialty mustards and even allow you to bring in your empty carafe (shown above) for a refill.

Chaussures de danse
This lady was lost in the music as she danced with a small jazz band performing near the Métro in Montmartre.

Sunday Church Series - Gloria
Temple Marais, a protestant reform church since 1802 was formerly St. Mary of the Angels ( built in 1632). It is rarely open to the public during the week, hence the only photograph I have. I just LOVE the red front doors!

Le petit garçon et son seau
These fountains can be found in most of the Paris parcs and cemeteries. It's obvious that the children have learned quite early how to use them without getting their clothes and shoes wet!
Square du Temple is a very small parc which seemed to be a favorite of the young and old. Very kid friendly with a large playground for the children. This day it was alive with little ones. We especially loved this little boy with his cute glasses and stylish sweater.

La galerie numismatique
Located at the Jardin du Palais Royal, the Galerie Numismatique specializes in vintage medals, awards and coins. I always stop for a look in the window. Another shop I should explore. Maybe I'll do that when I get my nerve to pop in to Didier Ludot next door!

Le photographe
This talented young man was selling his wonderful photographs of Tibet on the street in the Marais. I bought a few small ones and regret I didn't buy more. I told him I would put him on my blog and got this response. I still look for him every trip, in hopes that we will meet again.

Vin Rouge Pour Deux
I'm convinced that it pays to eavesdrop! Luckily I had some zoom and didn't have to hang over their shoulders for this shot!

Beaucoup de livres!
I understand that Shakespeare & Co. will be closed this month for inventory. If you've ever been inside you found this laughable. How that is accomplished with any accuracy whatsoever is beyond me. This trip maybe a poke around in The Abbey Bookshop in the Latin Quarier, also known for its English titles, will be in order. Looks like it's full to the brim with old books as well. Should be fun!

Sunday Church Series - Église Saint Séverin
The afternoon light in this small, contemporary chapel is a quiet place for prayer. This in one of my favorite churches in Paris. I love the very contemporary stained glass windows and unusual columns. Next Sunday, I will share those photos.
