Sunday Church Series - Église Val-de- Grâce
We had this view of the Val-de-Grâce from our living room window in June, 2009. I photographed this beautiful church in every light, at many hours of the day. A storm was gathering this afternoon.

Sunday Church Series - The Restoration
As is the case is in this old city with old churches, there is continual restoration going on in one place or another. Abbey Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of the oldest in Paris, camouflaged the scaffolding beautifully with this lovely trompe l'ceil screen.

Trop de Pluie - Paris Rouge
As the SE is reeling from Hurricane Irma and the state of Texas recovers from the hell of Hurricane Harvey, my city of Birmingham is expecting the aftermath of Irma for the next two days. Whatever she brings, it won't be anything like the devastation that Texas and Florida, as well as all of the islands in the Caribbean have experienced. If you feel you can contribute, there are many organizations taking donations and money to help.
If I don't post for a day or two, it may mean we've lost power here. Birmingham is a beautiful city full of old, gorgeous trees that like to take down power lines. I"ll stay in touch!

Bon App!
One of my great finds in Paris happened one day in 2014 while leisurely walking rue Saints-Pères. I looked through the big open doors on the street and spotted what appeared to be a charming little shop at the end. Of course I had to investigate. I found this utterly delightful bakery/café, Treize, a Baker's Dozen, owned by Laurel who speaks Southern because she's from South Carolina! Be still my heart. Now I always make time to go in and say,"Bonjour y'all!" and have brunch. You should too.

Paris From Above
Regardless your opinion of Centre Pompidou, you have to admit that it offers a unique view of Paris from above, without the crowds around la Tour Eiffel etc. The escalator is an easy ride up and I hear Café Gerorges is a nice place to enjoy a drink or meal and enjoy the view. I encourage you to research the current exhibits when planning a visit to Paris. The Mondrian exhibit we saw a few years ago was one I"ll never forget.
