Sunday Church Series - Val-de-Grâce

I loved attending services at the Église Val-de-Grâce twice during our stay in Paris in 2009. One of the churches you won't read about but is just beautiful. At that time, it was only open to the public during the services on Sunday.

Paris Rouge - Serge Ferrai

The showroom for Serge Ferrari is located on a charming cobblestoned courtyard, from the 16th century, in the Cour du Bel Air, in the 12th. The dripping vines made it all the more charming.

La mairie

Sometime the Parisian photography gods really bless me. We were strolling by the Mairie in the Marais, and found these steps covered rose petals. I think I just missed the bride and groom but the petals were enough....

La ligne

You can usually judge the merits of the local boulangerie by the length of the line outside!

Non, pas Le Pen!

I have chosen to be quite public with my views on our recent election here in the US, and don't apologize. Today, I make my feelings known regarding the current elections in France. I hope and pray that the French will learn from our mistakes here, and make the right choice in the next election in two weeks.

Paris Rouge - Didier Ludot

Didier Ludot's boutique at the Palais Royal features vintage designer delights. I will admit that as often as I've pressed my nose and my lens against this window, I've never gathered enough courage to walk in. Maybe next time.

The Most Patient Man in Paris

Today let us all celebrate the anniversaire of our friend Peter Olson ( Peter's Paris). I've known Peter since 2008, and he and I have walked a million miles up and down and all over Paris. He's an incredible expert on all things Paris, despite the fact that he's a Swede!  He is always generous with his expertise and time. I'm so grateful that he willing to wait while I take endless photographs, just like here in 2009.  Merci mon ami, for your time, your patience, but most of all your friendship. My best friend in Paris.

Paris Rouge - These doors!!!!

Perhaps my favorite doors in all of Paris. The fact that they are ROUGE, is beside the point!

The Musée Carnavalet, the history of Paris museum, is closed for restorations until at least 2019. Located in the Marais, you should put it on your list when it reopens.

Dimanche à Paris

If you are lucky enough to be in Paris on a Sunday, be sure to visit the Marché aux Oiseaux et le Marché aux Fleurs on Île de la Cité. This is a special treat if you are traveling with children as the Bird Market also offers, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc. for them to pet. A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Paris.

Au revoir!

Join me in bidding a fond au revoir to Paris' iconic kiosks. They will soon be replaced with more updated and modern versions. Le sigh....
