La conversation

In this little park, I noticed that the gentlemen congregated on one side, and the ladies on others. Everyone seemed happy with that arrangement.

Sunday Church Series - Les bougies

Église Saint-Paul-Saint Louis, consecrated in 1641 is one of my favorite smaller churches in Paris. Located in the Marais on rue Saint Antoine, it's not as grand as some, but I love it. Take the side door on the left and you will find a charming little alley.

Un Sourire!!!

As we waited to cross the street, a large bus containing soldiers or perhaps band members in dress uniform went by. I took a series of photos. He spotted me, gave me a smile then waved. Who says that the French never smile. I"m proud of this one.

Today I finally rejoin James' Weekend Reflections again! Click HERE to see all the other lovely reflection photographs from around the world!

Museum of Asian Arts

Musée national des arts asiatiques Guimet is considered one of the finest collection of Asian art and  civilizations. After 14 trips to Paris, I'm convinced it's impossible to visit all of the outstanding museums and galleries the city offers. This museum, located near Trocadéro and the Palais Chaillot, is just one of an exceptional concentration of fine museums in the area.

Urban Art Series - Léo & Pipo

Léo & Pipo are a  French duo whose creations feature collages of  BW 1920's photographs. I find them charming. From reading about them, it appears that you can find their work in countries around the world.

Urban Art Series - Philippe Baudelocque

This little series have been fun and educational for me. Until now, I"ve known a few of the more well known artists but I've had to really zoom in and do a little googling to find the others. Philippe Baudelocque, a French artist, uses chalk on black backgrounds to create his intricate creatures. You'll want to visit the site to see them all. I will definitely be looking for more on future trips!

Urban Art Series - Jana und JS

This little urban art series has forced me to research some of the photos that I've taken on Paris streets over the years. Jana & JS are a French /Austrian couple whose stencil art is distinctive and completely unique. I am almost certain that I shot these in the Butte aux Cailles neighborhood.

Urban Art Series - Jef Aerosol

An Urban Art Series would not be complete without another of my favorites, French stencil artist Jef Aerosol ( Jean`François Perroy)! He was one of the first urban artists in Paris and his creations can be found all over the city, but  I have found many in area around rue Mouffetard.

Urban Art Series - Jérôme Mesnager

I must confess, Mesnager's Man in White series are some of my favorites. I love finding them all over the city. He and Némo, seen earlier this week, were some of the first urban artists in Paris.

Urban Art Series - Finding Nemo!

So let's start a mini series again. Street art in Paris can be found in every neighborhood. NOT to be confused with tagging, which I despise, but the creative endeavors of many street artists who do their work, I assume, in the dark of night. I'll share some of my favorites in the days to come.

Today, Nemo. His work is distinctive,  featuring the silhouette of a man with recurring rouge umbrellas and balloons. With my Paris Rouge obsession, I"ve enjoyed finding Nemo all over Paris.

Le Ciel Bleu

Le Grand Roue is installed at the Concorde entrance to Tuileries for the holiday season. I went up years ago on a gray drizzly day in January. I"m still kicking myself for not taking advantage of this gorgeous and rare blue sky day!

Gorgeous Virginia Creeper/Boston Ivy vines snake their way across every available surface in Paris. The green turns to beautiful shades of red, coral and yellow.

Pots en cuivre

My Paris savvy readers probably are thinking  E. Dehillerin, and that would be an excellent guess. They are known for their extensive collection of copper cookware. These well worn pots and pans were spotted at Marché aux Puces. I love the patina.

Wednesday, October 11, 2017

Of all the offerings at the Marché aux Puces, I think I enjoyed the lace and linen vendors the most. Such beautiful handwork.

Tuesday, October 10, 2017

These green chairs are calling my name. I'm looking forward to pulling one up and propping my feet on a fountain at Tuileries... or maybe Luxembourg Gardens... or most likely the Palais Royal with Peter and Mary.  Paris, je t'aime!

My heart always skips a beat when I get right here. The gardens of the Palais Royal are truly my happy place.

Wandering around le Village Saint Paul one afternoon, I poked my head into a small courtyard and discovered this little photography exhibit, but alas, the artist must have stepped out for a smoke! If you are spending some time in the Marais, I highly recommend.

City Daily Photo Theme Day - Sensual

Well it's the first day of the month and you know by know that my fellow City Daily Photoblog friends are all posting their take on this month's theme, SENSUAL. Ooh la la. That was chosen just for Paris, nest-ce pas?

Today we stroll down rue Saint-Honoré and peek into Chantal Thomass' divine shop. Her windows are always tastefully, sensual. I"ve never been inside, but who knows.....
