Ahhh, the French Countryside!
Talk about culture shock. We left Paris this morning and after a nice drive through the countryside, we arrived in Fontaine-Fourches! La Bonne Etoile is such a beautiful place. Just what you imagine a French country farmhouse is like. Our hosts Kippy and Jerome were out of town but their dear friends Serge and Caroline greeted us and served a wonderful lunch on the terrace. I promptly cozied up in a comfy easy chair and had a little nap. The children have had a delightful time exploring, making a fairy house, picking cherries and trying to make friends with the two French chats! We are already feeling relaxed and at home here.

I could live there....Barb
Finally, the provincial life. I hope it's everything you were hoping for. It looks promising.
Oooooo la laaaaa! Love these photos and now I have to catch up with what you have been doing!
Ahhh ... this is the perfect respite after time in the city....
Ah "Le temps des cerises"!!!
Did she use them as earings like we used to when we were kids?..
It seems the sun showed its face at the right moment, finally!!
Beautiful picture. We're still wet and glum on this side of the globe, so I needed this. Dites-moi, is your daughter an artist as well?
The country life, what could be better! Enjoy your time there :)
The country is fun for a while, but after a week, I would be yearning for the city. At least, you'll be able to rest for a while.
Starman, I will always yearn for Paris but this is a welcome respite. I have napped, read, we've been to a brocante etc. I needed this. Our time in Paris was glorious but it takes a toll! I look forward to short trips back into the city. For now, I"m relaxing and enjoying the wonderful company and seeing a side of the France I've never seen before!
AH, My daughter is artistic in a different way. She has a wonderful design background and her own business in interior staging/design.
M-N,
No earrings but that's a great thought!
Yes, I guess you all needed some rest! ... and you chose the Champagne area! :-)
(I was back on "your" Paris area again, just after you left - for more urban art!)
Now you're talkin'!
Catching up on the shots today. All so beautiful it breaks my heart. I need a vacation.
A nap beneath the roses bushes... nice idea!
Peter,
You can't fool me, I know you were in "my" neighborhood to do some dancing on Sunday afternoon! :)
Alice,
You would love the roses here.
Petrea,
It's very peaceful and beautiful here. Join us!
Aaaah gorgeous. I'm so glad you're having a good time. Lots of cherries here too!
I love that first shot. The light on her face and arms is magical!
You've indeed captured the "relaxed and at home" feel of this place, V, especially with the bright morning shot of Eva and the cherry tree.
Your posts are such a blessing!
This is real France. If you like this and feel at home you have to get South one day. Something about Frnace more than any other country just slows me down form manic to kickback mode. Eva is one lucky little girl to experience the best country in Europe, for me the World.
