Paris Rouge XLI - Le Parapluie Rouge

The morning we arrived in our flat last month it was cold and rainy.   I flung open the gorgeous windows and peered to the rue St. Roch below.  I spotted this lady with her red umbrella, but couldn't quite get the shot I wanted.  I decided to climb onto the window sill and hang over the wrought iron railing.   Mary and Peter found me in this precarious position.  I got the shot!!!

Virginia, I am so glad you captured the moment and doubly glad you didn't fall doing so! Great photo, I love the way the rain glistens on the street and on the umbrella and the splash of red (and the brown of her handbag) are a wonderful contrast to the rest of the black and grays.

You must have been moving quickly to capture this 'Paris Rouge' moment before it got away. I am having fun visualizing the scene of you taking this photo.

This shot was SO worth risking life and limb for. Hope you're appropriately proud of yourself for catching this one—it's wonderful!

Woah! Fantastic red!

Cor! You snapped it and no camera-shake either! Brilliant.

Hope Peter and Mary didn't have a moment of fright thinking you'd taken leave of your senses and were about to jump !

Great photographer's reflexes there, that could have so easily been a case of "the one that got away".

The shot was worth the effort.

Thank you all for your comments. Now that I look back on it , I was rather foolish to take that risk but I guess since I'm still in one piece, it was worth it.

I can 100% imagine the scene of you leaning out the window to get this fabulous shot! I love it so much - the red stands out.

Some story behind the photograph! Congratulations on a job well done!

I love it! The red umbrella and the wet ground create a wonderful scene. Maybe it's even the same woman as my photo. :)

It looks to me like madame is walking toward the restaurant La Cordonnerie Chez yvette et claude.

I can picture the window that you took the photo from.

Indeed! She has quite some stride, your lady with the red parasol.

Love this one, the light, textures, colors, perfection. The lines and the direction of her walk leads me to think it is her scooter.
