Re- Bonjour
I'm often asked why I yearn to return to Paris over and over again. Today is a fine example. I photographed this friendly sidewalk artist at Place des Vosges the first time in July, 2009. This last trip, I found him again, in the very same spot, with the same wonderful smile. Question answered.
And may I take a moment to thank my French language expert, Veronique for being my very faithful translator for this blog. She makes me look so good and when my French fails, it's because I didn't ask her first! She has a fabulous blog, French Girl in Seattle, and I hope you will all start following her blog!

Puuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I've already posted a post from Le Café des Chats, but there seems to be a lot of interest in this new café in the Marais, and as I'm a cat lover, I have many to share. Today this little guy found a place to snuggle in the front window behind us. If you love cats, put this on your list!

Sunday Church Series - Saint Germain des Près
One of the oldest ( or maybe THE oldest) churches in Paris, Saint Germain des Preès is remarkably good condition. This last trip, I noticed these beautiful painted columns and the wear along the base. To be expected for a church hundreds of years old.

Signes du Samedi - Galeries Lafayette
In the winter months, you are rewarded for braving the cold in Paris by being able to witness a Paris sunset from atop the rooftop of Galeries Layfayette. (It closes around 6, so in the warmer months the sun doesn't set for a very long time after that.) We took full advantage in November, and as I was madly snapping photos along with everyone else that afternoon, I turned and spotted the sign with the photographers silhouetted.

Les grandes portes
The Palais du Tokoyo, located at 13 Avenue du Président Wilson, houses two wings. The eastern wing, the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and the western, Palais du Tokoyo/ Site de création contemporaine, belonging to the French state. The gentleman, gives a sense of scale.

La reflet
Each time I'm lucky enough to return to Paris, I try and find new themes to pursue. This trip in November, I kept my eye out for reflections in the mirrors of the zillion motorcycles parked on every street. I'll admit it's not as easy as you'd think. Dirty mirrors, mirrors with nothing photo worthy etc. but I found a few I'll share from time to time.
Today I am happy to join James' Weekend Reflections right here!

Le spectateur
I find the spectators around the pétanque courts at Luxembourg Gardens as interesting as the players! Every trip back to Paris, I find the time to come here and watch. Paris moments I treasure.

Cadenas d'amour!
Walking across the Pont des Arts this Sunday afternoon, I loved watching these boys trying to figure out what this was all about!

Coucher du soleil
The rooftop of Galeries Lafayette is the perfect spot to watch the sunset in Paris. In the winter months you can capture it all and it's a photo frenzy with cameras, phones, and Ipads! I like to think it a little perk for braving Paris in the colder months. In the spring and summer, the rooftop closes well before sunset. Quelle dommage.

Paris Rouge - La voiture et les fleurs
On February 1st, I mentioned Passage Saint Paul where there's a little side entrance to the Église Saint -Paul- Saint Louis in the Marais. I usually go or come this way as it's a charming little passage with wonderful weathered shutters and doors. This time, I spotted rouge all around.

City Daily Photo Theme Day - Entry
L'église Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis is one of my favorite churches in Paris. Located on rue St. Antoine in the Marais, it also offers a hidden side entrance on Passage St. Paul that I love to use. This door and lock show the age of this beautiful old church completed in 1641.
Today, my City Daily Photoblog friends around the world are sharing their version of our monthly theme. Click here to see them all!
