Up on the Roof

This is a view that many of you might have seen. It's the outside of the fabulous glass and steel dome of Galeries Lafayette as seen from the rooftop. In the background, yet another Living Wall/Vertical Garden. These walls are springing up all over Paris!

Signes du Samedi - Galeries Lafayette

In the winter months, you are rewarded for braving the cold in Paris by being able to witness a Paris sunset from atop the rooftop of Galeries Layfayette.  (It closes around 6,  so in the warmer months the sun doesn't set for a very long time after that.)  We took full advantage in November,  and as I was madly snapping photos along with everyone else that afternoon, I turned and spotted the sign with the photographers silhouetted.  

CDP Theme Day - Photo of the Year 2012

It's the first of January and that means that City Daily Photobloggers around the globe are scurrying around, digging through their photos to come up with their favorite/best photo of 2012.  Trying to choose my favorite was daunting so I opted for my favorite "Paris Moment" this past year.  Standing on the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette at sunset, my last day in Paris in January,  takes the prize this year.

Some of us traipse up to the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette armed with large or small cameras to capture sunset in Paris with this spectacular view. Others  pull out their iPad.

Un dernier regard

Our last afternoon in Paris on Tuesday,  Mary took me to the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette.  What a spectacular way to end our week in Paris.  It was almost sunset and the view took my breath.
