La Bourgogne, on rue Mouffetard is a great little place for lunch. That's my cassoulet of jambon et fromage at the bottom. May I just say I ate every bite. The sauce was creamy and cheesy and well, you know! And the top photo just says Paris café to me!
A special "Merci" to our dear Parisian amie Anne who chose this delightful place for the lunch we shared that day!

Yvi
Day-um yew, Virginia! «Louis» is on an eight hour medical fast and all his bovine stomachs are in an uproar because he can't feed them - and yew go and post about food!
Oh my!
WV: Grateds. Can I have some cheese grateds on my cheese please?)
That was a FINE lunch...but it looks like it's served on a cafeteria tray - please tell me that's a porcelain platter? And that was the day that I talked you into the scarf, n'est-ce pas?
What a wonderful perspective .. and I say well done to you on eating all that! Looks yummy.
Mary,
Well it does. Maybe they b rought in that because the bowl was trés chaud! I was too busy guzzling the vin to notice! HA And I don't recall you having to TALK me into the scaraf. I think I put it on and you mumbled something like, "You don't need it but I think you should get it anyway"!:)
Daryl,
I said, "Oh I'll never eat all this", and then plowed right through it!
Just can't beat French cafes...the food is almost always very good, and the ambiance...well, I always thought they were happy places!
I love saying "Rue Mouffetard." I could run the words through my head for hours.
Oh this does look good. And what a delightful relaxed friendly place too.
That lunch looks delicious. I may have to go and have one myself.
Oh Virgina that looks great! I love to eat and what better place to induldge. A little closer to the time of my next Paris trip I was going to ask if you had any cafe, brasserie or restaurant suggestions but I'm writting down this one now.
Keep the restaurant tips coming. I'm taking notes.
Mmmm, that looks scrumptious, Virginia, and I love the cafe fitout, too. Those light fittings are fun!
Fabulous photos, especially the yummy cassoulet. I will definitely put La Bourgogne on my list to visit -- the interior is perfect Paris bistro and the food (and wine) look divine!
I'm taking notes too! I'm getting Cassoulet de jambon et fromage translated for our menu!! I know that fromage is cheese!....
Looks delicious as does the guy on the left. ;-)
