Winter at the Hotel de Ville

Today I only left the apartment for a short while. Mary G and I were suffering from a stomach bug , so I don't have hot off the camera shots for you today. Instead, a look at the fun going on at the Hotel de Ville ( Paris City Hall). A large temporary skating rink has been installed and a gorgeous carrousel as well.

UPDATE: We decided to get out tonight and took a cab to la Tour Eiffel, and I got a few decent shots. I'm adding one for your viewing pleasure!

La Tour at her best. Great shot.

Looks like everyone is having so much fun skating......... so glad we're NOT to have freezing temps tonight! We've had enough of this cold weather and are looking forward to more moderate temps.

This Hôtel de Ville is for the entire city - but each arrondissement also has its own Hôtel de Ville as well.

The skating rink comes out each winter.

Merci everyone. We rallied like the Parisian troopers that we are and did Pere Lachaise and a lot more today. Time to pack. I'm very sad.

Le manège has been there forever. At least, since my first trip in 1999. Hope your tummy is feeling better today.
