Time to Tackle the Metro

The Conversation

Today we struck out to find a new battery charger pour moi, ("La Stupide"). It was also our first Metro day so we wandered a bit and eventually got to our destination. Along the way we found a Monoprix !!! We love a Monoprix and had a quick shopping trip there. After lunch at a nice Italian restaurant, we found the FNAC, and I had a very helpful sales assistant that showed me a cheaper (universal) charger than the Canon version. Magnifique!!! We then took the Metro to Zara, another shopping delight and the kids were the winners here. The return trip via the Metro proved challenging, but Melissa was on it. We had to walk pastn the Mouffetard market to get to the apartment so we did some grocery shopping, had a glass of wine, did some people watching and finally made our way home. No wonder the French are so slim and fit. Is it possible for me to stay long enough to join them? ( I'm sure I walked 10 miles today!)

Many thanks to Petanque America for posting one of my photos on his blog !

Since we are so fortunate to have 3 weeks in Paris, every day will not be a huge 'photo op day'. Not to worry, I will feature photos from previous days!

Ohlala the Pattiserie! Just to window shop is enough. I know it is wonderful to have more time to relax and savor the everyday sights and sounds and not be trying to cram so much into a short time. You find plenty of 'photo ops' wherever you roam! I love to see them all.

I'm trying to analyze that outfit -a dress/skirt over slacks?? What are you noticing about "fashion" over there?

Do you remember the address for the balcony with the red chairs?

Great job with these photos...can't decide which is my favorite.....

Today I am veering away from my usual "your people shots are the best" compliment and saying I love the red chairs and red car. Guess I'm just in a red mood... Oh, and what is a Monoprix?

Virginia, this is a perfect little story about why living in Paris can be such a joy. The cafe moment is charming. I'm sure it is the first of many.

Watching your adventure unfold is a great joy to me. I'm especially delighted by the photos of Davis and Eva but also the patiserrie and the pétanque players, both favorite childhood memories.

WEll let's see, the red chairs I spotted across the street from our kitchen window. Aren't they great?

Monoprix is like a small Target! We love the children's clothes and the ladies clothes are nice for the younger set like Melissa! It has a mini market, cosmetics etc.

The Parisian ladies are still pretty much in winter dress mode. It's chilly here but many are still in wool etc. The lady in the top photo's outfit I can't even describe!HA

David, didn't even think about all the red till you mentioned it!

HI, Virginia, and welcome to Paris. We're on the same time zone...

No time now to comment on your individual photos, but I am enjoying them and envying your time in Paris.

Just to say that I clicked on your Paris Through My Lens on your Birmingham blog, but it did not work, so I Googled it.

Maybe Doug can fix it?

Well aren't you having fun, Madame! I am very much liking your 'strangers' series - especially the hug - and everything else too. FNAC is a dream, of course, and I adore Zara. Just my cup of tea.

Too much to comment on really except to say I'm so enjoying your Paris. I love today's B and W couple and love too the red chairs on the balcony. Well spotted!

Oh oh, you are going to become des vrais Parisiennes!
Love Eva between this red car and this blue door. And it's so strange to read "What is a Monoprix?" and your answer, so interesting ;-)

I do enjoy it!!!

The trick is to walk PAST the Patisserie and not indulge in the marvelous looking treats .. THEN all the walking pays off ...

Who is that peeking over the top of the Triumph?

Maybe THE greatest walking city in the world. I'm with PJ, taking much much pleasure in following your adventure.

And that's no jugalamp.

I love the silhouette of the cathedral that you currently have on your 'masthead'- if that's the right word.

That's our Eva peeking over the top of that fine Triumph and our blue door to the apt.

Kevin , of course you like it. It's noir!!

Jilly,
I'm emailing the apt. phone number. Maybe we can chat? I love to catch up with you over the phone again.

Alice,
We are looking forward to hearing from you. Hope Paris in your future!

OMGoodness! Fruit tart is my absolute downfall. I've dropped 11 pounds and am on being good about my eating and activities everyday, so thank you for this calorie-free sweet treat! Plus, nice to see YOU too!
That car is a sweetie, and such a perfect shot with her head and those blue doors behind it.
