Apartment With a View!
We consider ourselves very fortunate that our flight went well. The children slept like logs . (Behold the power of Benadryl) Melissa and I napped. Enough said about that. We got through
Charles de Gaulle with ease and our van driver was right there to load us up. When we arrived at the apartment we were greeted by Jerome ( my new best friend) himself and he has been a delightful and helpful host. He took Melissa to the market and has shown us the ropes around here. I babysat from the couch with barely one eye open watching the kids. I feel like I did after I stayed up all night studying for exams in college. You know the feeling. The baguette and vin blanc is helping I think.
Now about the view. That is the dome of the Val de Grace church from our living room window. We can hardly wait for nightfall ( for a lot of reasons). Jerome says the dome is lit and it's gorgeous. I 'm still up, I'll be shooting it from the window.
Tonight we strolled the neighborhood and had pizza at a nice cafe. Everyone including moi is tired to the bone so it's an early night of this crowd. I'm including a few photos from our first outing this afternoon.

That sure does look like a great view! Too bad it's actually a photograph.
You're the 2nd person I know who just so happens to be in Paris at this time.
Better get your "bad" self rested - you've got lots to shoot and it's all waiting out there for you!
Will you save Passy Cemetery pour moi?
xx,
M

V. it's wonderful to read about your arrival and apt. I was going to say that we see photos of the beautiful buildings but rarely the inside. Hopefully you will find some interesting things to show us. It's so nice to be 'with you' in Paris!
Everything seems to go very well! I'm happy for you. Of course, the first day is not the best. A good night and "en route"! Now, you have just to enjoy your vacation, great!

Fantastique! Have you speaking in French? And of course your second picture in France would have to include a handsome homme.
I'm working on a serious case of vacation envy here! Oh to walk those streets with you. Have a wonderful time. I plan on checking in everyday...you are my official French connection!
Love the photos so far,I can't wait to see more. Hope you all got some rest and please eat some wonderful french food for me....Barb

AH,
My limited French is getting a workout. I made friends with 4 pentanque players today. They were hilarious. I"m doing a special post on those photos in addition to tomorrow's photos.

Your people shots truly blow me away Virginia! Oh, and what a great view. Lucky!
Virginia I tried to sent you a mail to "virgjones@gamil.com" but it failed. Is this address correct ?
Laurent,
Sorry it's gmail.com not gamil.com.
Jet lag plus! HA
Oh what a joy to know that you're there! Your first photo doesn't disappoint. WOW, what a view!
I hope you get some sleep...
You like this view better than the one we shared from the Mayfair?
Enjoy it all.
KD

Valerie,
Ahhh yes. Rain in Bham. Quite a switch from last summer's drought right? Glad you are following us!
M-N,
You know southerners love some air conditioning and we were thinking we could use some the last two days. We had rain last night and it's heavenly now.
LJ, We're in the 5th - welcome!
KD, Yes the view is better but will have to stop in the Mayfair and say hello to Louisa and the staff!
Back at last! I just don't know why, but I was never really able to get more than light naps in on those long flights. I must say, that is a splendid view1
Fantastique! Je suis un peu jalouse. Non, je suis très jalouse.
