Massage gratuit
This Sunday, as Mary and I strolled up rue Mouffetard, we spotted the free massages. I was as frequently the case, struggling with my sciatica, and this seemed like a dream come true. In my franglais, I explained, avec some sign language, that I really needed help with that area. As Mary took the camera, she captured the start and I'm happy to report that Monsieur helped my back. I was happy to put quite a few euros in the cup!
Tonight, as I am again dealing with the same problem, I'm wishing I could take advantage of Monsieur's expertise!

City Daily Photo Theme Day - Looking Down
It's July 1 and by now you know that it means THEME DAY for City Daily Photobloggers around the world. For our theme, I selected a photo from November, 2014. From the Passerelle Debilly, I watched the owner unload groceries from his car to the boat. I eventually wandered down and had a brief conversation. I learned he was an artist and that if I could come back a little later, after he had finished his work, he would show me around his péniche (houseboat). Sadly I had to be on my way!

Fini!
Today, meet the artist. He word knee pads so he could draw the grid, and later the entire picture on the sidewalk. When he spotted me, he kindly got up, posed for photos and showed me what he would create. He promised he would be done in "trois heures". I made sure that my afternoon included a walk back over the bridge to see it. Yesterday's post was the new sketch that he had just started. was The photo below is the one he was working on that morning. Encounters like this are what make my trips to Paris so very special for me.

Sunday Church Series - Église Saint-Etienne-du-Mont
The other day, a friend reminded me of the movie, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS. I took this photograph in the pouring rain early one evening in Paris. These are the steps beside Saint Étienne du Mont, where the Gil was picked up each evening at midnight.

Chanel, les Chaussures
Didier Ludot, luxury consignment shop, is a window I never miss, when at the Palais Royal. I've left many nose prints against their windows. What a delight to see the Diors, Chanels and so many more. Today, les chaussures de Chanel.

Paris Rouge - L"escalator
You either love the architecture of Centre Pompidou of you don't. I'm somewhere in between! At night the red escalator is pretty cool. It's high tech architecture was designed by Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano, along with Gianfranco Franchini. It opened in 1977.

Not This Weekend
With the severe flooding in Paris this week, Parisians won't be relaxing along the quai any time soon.
