Bless Peter's heart. He trudged up to Montmartre with me for probably his 100th time so I could explore a little more, and did it cheerfully I might add. It was cold and damp and a bit slippery in places as Paris was melting from their latest snowfall ( that managed to elude my lens), but I found a few hearty artists braving the cold, sketching away. I note the Greek on the back of his easel, but he's doesn't appear to be Greek to me. Any thoughts?

Hi V ... no I don't think this focused artist is an ancestor of Aristotle. I think his heraldry is more akin to Jon Constable.

Oh my, I thought he was a "she." At first and second glance. Okay, not a cute she but still.. a she.
A beautiful portrait of the artist at work in Paris Virginia.
I can not tell if he is Greek or not, but he inscription on the back of his "tableau", is Greek for sure.
I can make out some Greek words, and it appears that there are some older quotes in Greek mentioned there.

C'est un mystery Virginia, not so the absolute fact that this is a superb portrait shot. I love Montmartre so much, I would climb those stairs willingly and have the best derriere as an added bonus haha!
Sorry to ruin your day, Virginia, but he's probably a tourist from Brooklyn. I'm still fascinated by the Russian and Irishman in the background.

I think I have seen this man a couple of times there.Is he the one that uses pastels - if this is the same guy - he is a fantastic portrait artist !!!!!!
