La neige à Paris

For the four trips to Paris in January, only once, ONCE, was I lucky enough to experience a magical snowfall, January 2010.  That morning held another delightful surprise. For the first time since I had visited Paris, the construction walls had been taken down overnight to reveal the newly restored Colonnes de Buren I'm grateful for the wonderful memories of that morning walking through the Palais Royal with Mary.

Charmant!

Opened in 1960, the Musée de Montmartre is considered the most charming museums in Paris. Step inside the 3 century old buildings and see the works of Renoir, Dufy, Utrillo. This day the museum was closed but it remains on my list.

Les ombres

Late on a winter afternoon, the pétanque players are winding down another day of cutthroat play at the Luxembourg Garden courts.

Hiver

In winter, Paris is cold and gray but it still makes my heart sing!

Les branches

Travel to Paris during the winter months has forced me to see things in different ways as a photographer. I've gotten a lot of practice!  This remarkably sunny Sunday morning, showed me another view of the Seine.

Neige du matin

A January snowfall overnight a few years ago didn't deter this runner, the walker or the pigeons at the Jardin du Palais Royal.

Vue des Tuileries

I know it's gloriously springtime in Paris now, but alas, so many of my trips have been in winter months so today I will share a view of the Louvre from Tuileries taken last January.  Although the well trimmed branches are bare, I do so love the reddish brown color!

Tuileries From Above - Jumping Puddles

Last January as Peter and I went round and round on the grand roue at Place de la Concorde, I captured this view of Tuileries and the Louvre in the background.  It was a chilly and drizzly day as you can see from all the puddles scattered along the way.

Congratulations to Magdariana for being my 600th Follower!  Thank you all for your faithful visits to this blog!!!
