Église Saint-Germain-des-Prés

This Sunday another peek inside one of Paris' oldest churches, St. -Germain- des -Pres. We've visited several times but it's worth another look I think.

Both nice shots, but I especially like the one through the scrollwork. We visited a church yesterday in Lausanne. Pics to follow at some point!

Your professionalism constantly shows through because none of us amateurs would think to take the beautiful shots you do.

Love those candles and the ancient brown/yellow colors.

I've often enjoyed stopping into St Germain-des-Pres over the years. There is one small stained glass window in there I really like, a triangle at the center radiating out thin slivers of brilliant orange, golds, yellows, like sunrays... Both your photos here are gorgeous, very sober, reflecting the atmosphere...

Virginia, thanks for sharing this unusual view of St. Geermain des Pres. I particularly like the flowing, organic screen contrasted with the austere chairs.

Thank you all for your nice comments. This is a beautiful church and one that I've enjoyed photographing several times. As I spent so much time in the churches of France and especially Paris this past summer, I made a real effort to try and find details or an angle that was a little out of the ordinary. It was challenging but rewarding as well.

This one makes my heart sing and I feel cozy like I want to do art when I see this photo. One of the warmest feelings I've has in a travel photo... must be from all the browns and blacks in the photo with the light in the the far back? BRAVO VIRGINIA!
