Sunday Church Series - Le plafond

Ceiling detail, Saint-Étienne-du-Mont

This is one of my favorite churches in Paris. Nestled beside the Panthéon, we always stop in on our way down to Luxembourg Gardens. The ceiling alone is worth the trip.

Next time you stop, light a candle for me. I could not look up at the ceiling since I am still suffering from vertigo!!!

Hello Virginia , a wonderful church. I remember going here in 2013 . I have lots of photos but not sure why I don't have one of the ceiling .. Thanks for sharing.

It never ceases to amaze me how such artistry was achieved in centuries past without the power tools available today.
