These old barrels have been repurposed as sidewalk tables at Le Rubis. A nice place to stand for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Mary and I had a nice lunch there with
Richard Nahem and
Zabie Johnston ( and her pup Mr. Pidds ). This is a nice, inexpensive place ( with a zinc bar!) to have French home cooking. Family owned and very friendly. ( Tip: Skip la toilette)

Like the rouge and the thoughts of the zinc bar... You will have to take me there when we go again!
Uh, yes... Got the toilet message and we should make a list of that type...
a stand up place to sip and sup
Excellent photo!
Encore un amateur de café sans sucre.
Alain, café avec sucre pour moi! :)
Vreni, you know that's what caught my eye!
HI Virginia, loving the rouge.. so many wonderful corners of Paris but looks like you have made it to most of them!! Carla xx
Love the photo and the rouge and white checked napkin. I'm sitting here enjoying a cafe latte viewing this photo...it would be better in Paris...sigh!
Thanks for the warning about the la toilette! HA
This looks mighty inviting, V! As for the toilette, duly noted. Anyway, my fave—the ladies' room at the Ritz—is just a short walk from here. :~}
It looks like my kind of place! Chic but not overdone, and very homey and comfortable. (And yummy.. which of course is of vital importance.) :D
Love the idea...but I prefer to sit and sip!!!
But what if I've gotta go?
