Le garçon et le chef
I caught these two waiting in the doorway at L'Isola, off rue Mouffetard. That day, I was a bit early for dinner and caught them waiting longingly for customers. Sadly, when I returned to Paris this last time, I found that they had closed.

What a cool shot, V. Love that angle! Don't despair, you may bump into vos vieux amis somewhere else in Paris one day... Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
The shoes say it all. Great shot!
What a great shot. Also in Paris there is crisis so restaurants and shops have to close because people have less money to spend.
i wish i could get there too...and take a nice shot like yours...cheers.
Sad.
Both this and the earlier photo of these two: beautiful.
quel domage !!
but who knows, maybe they found a better job in the meantime and were able to buy new shoes?
I guess France is starting to feel the economic woes that the rest of us have. It's hard to make a go of anything in this slow to recover environment, :(
I really like this shot, perfect title.
The restaurant business is an impossibly difficult way to earn a living.
Great photo but also sad that now they are closed!
I just got caught up on all the posts I have missed! I love yesterday's and the photo with the shot of the woman walking by in the reflection! Awesome V !!!
Une belle capture...
Dommage que cet établissement ait fermé ses portes. J'espère qu'un prochain successeur viendra vous faire vibrer...
gros bisous
V, I followed your recommendation and ate at this restaurant several times on my last visit and loved the food. I am very sad that they have closed.
You have to be special to succeed in the restaurant business in Paris.
A charming shot...when times are tough, it's especially hard for restaurants...we've had a number of changes up here with restaurants and shops closing, and others opening...The only thing guaranteed in life is everything changes!!!
