Quelques saint-Jacques sur un lit de poireaux fondus, je veux bien et vous ?... mais attention accompagné d'un bon verre de vin blanc. Gros bisous et merci pour cette belle photo... Le regard est passionné.
An adorable couple. Looks like they aren't very happy with the prices. Her hands clenched in hesitation. Tough choice, so many options on a tight budget. Madame est triste. Wonderful pic Virginia.
I am a former elementary school teacher, a full-time photographer, lover of all things French ( whose French is slowly improving), obsessive Paris traveler, enthusiastic church and community volunteer, and grandmother to 5 delightful grandchildren.
I fell in love with Paris in March 2007. It was as the French say, le coup de foudre : love at first sight. As a result of that trip, my photography took another direction. Since that time I have pursued a career of sorts in photography and dreamed of returning to the City of Light. November 2008 found me strolling the streets of Paris once again. My first visit I was so overwhelmed with the incredible beauty of the city, I photographed it as a "tourist". In 2008 I returned and I looked at the city with more of a photographer's eye. I wanted to capture the unique, the small details, and oh yes - the people! This blog was started as a photo diary of that trip, but I have been most fortunate to return to the city j'adore 15 times since. Each time I leave, I wipe a tear and start planning my list for the next trip. Paris may well be a moveable feast, but I think it's best savored in person! Someone told me that once you have been to Paris, you will leave a piece of your heart. I left mine right there, but I brought home some wonderful memories. It is my pleasure to share them with you.

I knew at first sight that you took this photo at the Marché des Enfants Rouges! Great capture!

La liberté n'est pas l'absence d'engagement, mais la capacité de choisir.

Pretty picture! I like how they both focus and wait!
Love those little touches of the scarf looped around Madame's neck and Monsieur's jaunty cap .... Oh so French!
Love the ladies expression. Very quizzical. Not sure if she is going to make a purchase or not.

Wonderful pic Virginia.
S'il te plait, remind me again as to where you are standing in the banner photo.
Great street photography, V. Love this shot of Monsieur et Madame. Bon weekend en Alabama! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
This shot of the market is really a great portrait of the couple considering their choices.
Great photo, Virginia! They look so deep in thought while trying to decide what they are going to purchase.

Harriet, I was high atop the rooftop at Galerie Layfayette and most delightful place to take in a fine view!
V, you have captured M et Mme Too Too Parisien! I think they're actually suffering from un embarras de choix—and I don't feel sorry for them at all.
You're right Virginia, it would be hard to make a choice, but oh how I'd like to be there to give it a go!! Fab B&W image.
I'm sure others have made this comment but her expression is just wonderful.
A decisive moment, as they say.
