City Daily Photo Theme Day - Triangles

Our CDP theme for the month of April is TRIANGLES.  I simply would not hear of dragging out a shot of la Tour Eiffel, non, it must be more creative than that!  Well it was a bit of a challenge,
but I settled on the top of the sweet Dodo Manège carrousel at Jardin des Plantes!

Today my City Daily Photoblog friends around the world are posting their TRIANGLES. Click HERE to see them all.

Les bouquinistes

I don't know that I've purchased a book here but have found some lovely vintage prints for myself and gifts for family and friends. Always worth a slow stroll.

Sunday Church Series - Église St. Roch

Our favorite apartment in Paris overlooks this beautiful church. We wake up to the bells.  It's a very special place.

Savon au miel

Les Abeilles is a tiny little shop in the Butte aux Cailles neighborhood, devoted to all things honey. I featured the proprietor here. Today, les savons.

Printemps

At the beautiful Jardin des Plantes.  As much as I love Luxembourg and Tuileries, this is the place to come, especially if you're visiting Paris with children.

Dimanche rue Mouffetard

After watching my Parisian friends dancing down by the church on rue Mouffetard, we slowly made
our way up the hill.  We poked around in a few shops,  took a lot of photos and then I spotted Zinc des Fleurs.  Of course I had to stop in and say, "Bonjour Monsieur!" as the owner, Hervé,  is one of my French Strangers from many years ago.  As always he was smiling and welcoming and when I spotted these fabulous roses he said, "Put your nose in those." I did.  Heavenly.

Quelle surprise!

Je suis en retard.  Jour du Macaron was yesterday.  How fitting that I'm un peu en retard.  Pas une problème, a photo today! Merci Ladurée.

Paris Rouge - Happy Hours

I laugh at the translation. Happy Hour, Happy Hours.  As long as I get a nice glass of wine, I'm HAPPY!

Des fleurs pour Madame

Monsieur was kind enough to stop and let me smell the roses.  What a thoughtful man. I'll bet she loved them!

Copper Pot With Corks

In 2009, we spent a week at La Bonne Etoile in Fontaine- Fourches, FR. Kippy and Jerome had this fabulous copper pot of corks that caught the morning sun. I'm ashamed at how many times I photographed it before it got it just right, for me at least.

Perdu et trouvé

I am really amazed at how many themes I seem to accumulate in Paris. A few years back I photographed a dear little mitten that someone had found hand hooked on a door for the owner. Last November, I spotted this perky hot pink beret, hung over the fence at the playground in Luxembourg Gardens, patiently waiting for her fashionable owner to claim her.

Le chef

Our rather large and festive group had a delicious meal near Place des Vosges last November at Les Bonnes Soeurs.  The chef made a small appearance.  We all clapped!

Paris Rouge - Le lac des cygnes

Maybe one day I will see a ballet in Paris. Until then, I will enjoy the billboards in the Métro with these bright red chairs.

I Love Paris When It Drizzles

Let's just face it. When you travel to Paris, it's probably going to rain at some point.  This lovely couple were from Australia and sat next to us at lunch that day.  A few blocks down the street I caught them sharing an umbrella.

Sing along with me, "I love Paris in the winter when it drizzles.  I love Paris every moment, every moment of the year."

Paris Rouge - Table près du fenêtre

I"ve photographed the exterior of Au Vieux Paris d'Arcole many times, but this last trip, our friend Peter Olson was able to get us inside before it opened for dinner.  Once inside, you can believe this beautiful restaurant has been in business since 1594.  It was like stepping into an oil painting.

Today I join Ruby Tuesday right here

Le chien de la boutique

Tucked away in Le village St. Paul, you'll find Cassiopée and Co.   This beautiful antique store specializes in silver and crystal.  The owner's pup was sound asleep and hardly lifted an eye when I took a zillion  photos!

Sunday Church Series - L'église Val-de-Grâce

In June 2009, our apartment had the spectacular view of the Val-de-Gras church from our windows. I attended services there on two occasions, something I will never forget. While sitting in the back of the church before the services began, I noticed this lady and quietly snapped her photo.

CDP Theme Day - People On The Street

When in Paris, the images I'm always looking for are people on the street so this CDP Theme for March was right up my alley.  This photograph was taken outside of the Lycée Charlemagne in the Marais.  The teens were hanging out during their lunch break,  and I watched as the boy on the left spun this ball on his finger.  I asked to take his photo and he agreed. He then said, "You should take his photo, he's a lot better than I am," and pointed to this fellow. He was a bit embarrassed but agreed.  Another Paris moment I won't forget.

My City Daily Photoblog friends around the world are sharing their take on our theme this month.  Have a look right HERE!
