Matin au marché

Unlike many of Paris' street markets,  this one on rue Mouffetard, is open almost every day. We stayed close by in 2009 and crossed this street at least twice a day going to and from the Censier-Daubenton métro.  We loved shopping here and often stopped after for a glass of wine at a café to watch the shoppers and gain our strength to climb rue Claude Bernard to our flat.  Eva and Davis usually got a euro each to spend at the candy vendor's.  The highlight of their day!

It all looks wonderfully healthy, dear V. I'd be treating myself to a euro of lollies as a reward.

I wish there were more outdoor markets here in NYC, especially outside of Manhattan...what a great way to plan your meals every day. :)

J'adore la rue Mouffetard. Le Husband and I went to a local pub on our first [blind] date. I wonder if it is still there... Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

You come there with the idea of buying some thing, then you find an other one, and you go back home with a basket full of delicious things! :o)

When I was in Paris , I spent so much time taking photo's of the
outside food stands, and window displays of candy shops and baleries.
Only the French have that special touch for display. You brought back fond memories.
Thanks, Yvonne

How much money did you get to spend on candy?

I love rue Mouffetard. I sat at the Cafe Mouffetard while the waitress crossed the street to get bread for my croque. Quintessential Paris. Tulips. Children with satchels. Candy.

Beautiful produce! I would love to live nearby...instead of here in suburbia :(

On another note: That steel wall is now on display in the Guggenheim, Spain!

Beautifully captured, V! I feel like I'm right there (instead of here at my desk, eating a boring lunch). So merci beaucoup, ma chère, et bon weekend!
