In Paris, the cars and even the tables and chairs are a tight fit!

Flowers That Bloom at Midnight
Last January I met my friend Richard Nahem ( Eye Prefer Paris) for a quick photo shoot at Tuileries before we all had lunch and headed to the Cimetière des Chiens. We went to photograph an installation by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Quite a colorful and whimsical group of flowers it was! Adjoining the carrousel, I'm sure it brought many smiles to the children that visit the gardens.
Yesterday my blog friend JM, Oeiras Daily Photo featured some of her work and I recognized them immediately. I decided it was the perfect time to post here and link to JM's post HERE.

Loisir
Place des Vosges
The French have perfected leasure time. I've never had the nerve to just kick off my shoes and stretch out in the grass, but I've thought about it!

La Porte de l'Enfer
Summer at the Musée Rodin is breathtaking. In the distance through the Rose Garden, La Porte de l'Enfer.
This is one of my favorite museums in Paris.

100 French Strangers - La vendeuse de poisson
French Stranger #83
On a very chilly January morning, this lady was ready with a smile, despite working with cold fish and ice all morning at the market. ( Tell me again about how serious and aloof the French are!)

Paris Rouge - L'autobus
Having watched the ending of le Tour de France ( thanks Genie for the heads up) as the bikers pedaled up and down the Champs Élysées yesterday, it made me homesick for this special view.
As an added bonus I include a special tune for you today!

Le petit garçon
After Sunday church services at the Église Val-de-Grâce, this sweet boy took advantage of the wide open spaces of the courtyard. He sat very quietly through the service where his baby sister had been christened that day, and needed a little play time!

Capture the Colour
My dear blog friend Francesca in Australia has a delightful travel photoblog, Postcard Pictures. Recently she entered Travel Supermarkets Capture the Color photography contest. Each entry posts five photographs featuring the colors red, blue, yellow, green and white. In addition you then invite five other bloggers to participate. She kindly included me so today my offerings.
RED
January 2011, we arrived in Paris on a chilly, rainy morning. I flung open the windows of our apartment on rue Saint Roch to have a look and spotted this lady with her rouge umbrells coming my way. I will admit that I had to stand in the window sill to get this shot. It was worth it. If this photo looks familiar, it's because it is of course the cover of my book, Paris Rouge Through My Lens!
BLUE
Twilight shoot at the Louvre is magical. The reflection of the sky and the pools took my breath. An evening in Paris I won't forget.
GREEN
The rose gardens still blooming in late November, as seen through this interesting window at the Musée Carnavalet.
YELLOW
Café Nemours at Place Colette is one of my favorite places to sit outside and people watch. In January, it proved to be a cozy spot for a hot cup of tea. My favorite table has this wonderful view of le Louvre just down the street.
WHITE
La neige. Oh it snowed the first night we were in Paris in 2011! That morning, we awoke to the city blanketed in white. As we walked through the gardens of the Palais Royal on our way to catch the Metro, I got this shot. It remains one of my fondest Paris memories and favorite photographs.
Now I must invite 5 bloggers who may choose to join the contest:

Le garçon
While poking around the Village St. Paul in the Marais one afternoon, I glanced up and spotted this boy and his schoolmates. I think they might have been to the Académie de Magie just down the street. Except for the sneakers, a timeless photograph I think.

Le trombone
As we made our way through the dancers on rue Mouffetard, past the weekend arts and crafts market , we encountered this lively band of street musicians. Not bad for a Sunday walk to the Jardin des Plantes! Another reason.... I love Paris!
I think this qualifies for James' Weekend Reflections right HERE~

Les toits de Paris
I seem to remember that I was sitting at a café, enjoying lunch and a glass of wine and looked up. I don't know what I love more, the chimney pots or the TV antennas... or maybe the ciel bleu!
