What better photo to end my stay in Paris than one from my first day in Paris last Wednesday. Peter laughingly calls the Palais Royal "mine" because I never seem to tire of it. We stopped at this fountain, put our feet up and relaxed for a few minutes that afternoon. I was grateful for a little rest as I'd been awake for 24+ hours. It's hard to say goodbye to Paris but as always, I'm grateful for the precious time here. Mary and I will fly home Wednesday.....le sigh!

Le sigh indeed! The words "leave" and "Paris" are not the best of friends.
I'm with Suzy—"leave" and "Paris" are two words that shouldn't be used in the same sentence! Sounds like you had a super time, but that just makes it harder, n'est-ce pas?
Meanwhile, this photo is wonderful. Love it in b&w.
I like this symmetrical image, Virginia, but I get confused about the emotional impact. If I focus on the fountains, I smile. If I focus on the empty chairs, I am sad.
Have a safe flight back.
Beautiful image! The time is flying so fast, especially in Paris. La tristesse de depart. You're bringing home precious moments. But You'll be back in Paris soon. Enjoy the rest of the trip.
Wonderful to see you today !!!
Have a fabulous day Tuesday wherever you end up, and safe travels back across the pond...
so nice!
Une photo sublime... Une fontaine qui jaillit telle l'ouverture d'une bouteille de champagne... A vous, ma chère!!
Gros bisous
But you just got there!
As they say - "Until next time" - merci for taking us all along.............
Oh! Such a short visit. My heart would break at such a brief encounter. Safe travels home.
Your stay was short but intense, and you'll come back with plenty of memories and pictures.
Well that's some shot and I bet you have hundreds to show us over the coming months until your next visit. Enjoy your last day, dear Virginia.
ET Suzy said it beautifully. When I gaze at this photo of yours, V, I think of champagne ~ all bubbles and vivaciousness. No wonder you love this spot so much. Safe travels home, and on the plus side, Meepsie will be ever-so-ecstatic to have mum home again!
C'est vrai, c'est un joli coin. Un peu snob peut-être.
Safe Travels. Can,t wait to see what's on that "memory" card!
May be a silly question. But, how do you rember so very many shots? I am thinking that you are also a good note taker?
HI VG,
i;m glad you're enjoying Paris. ^0^ and too bad you have to say g.bye already, well, can't wait to see more of your posts and the sights you've been. ^0^
a plus.
I enjoyed that very spot on my last trip to Paris, we even had our last breakfast there before we had to make our way to the airport. Le sigh aussi.
Phil and I think you and Mar are having WAY too much fun without us!
Talk about 'ringside' seats and what a show, and I concur with above sentiments, a champagne show!! Safe trip home Virginia.!
I'm sorry your trips have to be so short. Now that I'm feeling better (if it continues), we're thinking about another European trip at the end of the summer. Probably Antwerp, Brussels, Amsterdam, Bordeaux and Montpellier. We're also considering the possibility of a move to either Bordeaux, Montpellier or Toulouse.
Your week in Paris went by much too quickly! Hope all flights and connections on the return trip went smoothly.
Such a wonderful photo to end your stay in Paris...you have such a great eye, Virginia.
