Antique lanterns are my weak point. Sparkling bijoux of the city. Paris and Florence have the best ones and so distinctive.

I'd have known it anyway! Soooo beautiful, V. I spent a couple of nights in one of those rooms with the half-moon window on the Palais Royal when I first got to Paris. Unfortunately, I was too young, ignorant, and jet-lagged to fully appreciate it. :~{
