Paris Rouge - Le sac à dos

Most likely a student who paused on the edge of the Fountain Pol Bury to check her phone.

Très élégant

Never miss the chance to stop by the Palais Royal while in Paris. It's a wonderful, quiet place to sit and rest a bit...and people watch.

If you would like to see photographs from the Palais Royal, please have a look at my photo essay published this month at Bonjour Paris right here. I'm pleased to be a monthly contributor for their beautiful new website!

For my Birmingham area readers: I will again be teaching From Snapshots to Creative Photographs at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church's Conservatory of the Arts beginning Thursday, September 10th for 5 weeks. Please visit their website for online registration!

Le livre de lecture

I would love the time in Paris to be able to sit at the Palais Royal and read.

Monsieur

Nicely dressed for a stroll through the Palais Royal. Perhaps monsieur is a shop owner or going to do a little shopping.

Le chien et son ami

Monsieur was smiling and le chien was winking! Another great day at the Palais Royal.

Bonjour ou au revoir?

A quiet morning in the gardens of the Palais Royal.  I love to imagine the story here.

Seul

When all of Paris is alive with people,  the Jardin du Palais Royal remains a quiet and lovely place. J'adore.

La Petite Enfant

You met these two ladies as they walked slowly through the gardens at the Palais Royal here.  I promised another look.  Peter and I pulled up our chairs next to them to enjoy the fountain, and this little one entertained us all.  I think she brightened their day as well as ours.

Paris Rouge - Pardon!

I have held on to this photo since last January. I took it on the fly at the Palais Royal....hence the movement blur. I apologize up front but I still love it eight months later so I'm going to share and beg forgiveness.

Marche avec moi

These two ladies, perhaps mother and daughter,  walked slowly through the Palais Royal gardens this chilly January afternoon.  They found two chairs around the fountain to rest, right next to ours.   I have another photo to share.

This is my selection for The World in Black and White today right here.

The Delightful Pétanque Players

I do believe that meeting and photographing strangers in Paris is my favorite pastime....among others!  It has almost become a game I play with myself, just seeing how many Parisians I can engage in a VERY brief conversation or sometimes just holding up my camera with a simple, "S'il vous plait???" (with a smile!)

Usually I photograph my pétanque players in the designated areas at the Jardin de Luxembourg, but this afternoon I found these delightful young people playing an impromptu game as the sun was setting at the Palais Royal . Come back tomorrow to see what they used to improve their game! :)

PS I think this is one of my favorite Paris portraits so far. I loved meeting them!

Une réunion d'amis dans les jardins

Friends gather for wine and conversation on a late summer afternoon at the Palais Royal.  I think this might be one of my many favorite Paris memories.
(I so wanted to join them!)

Walk With Me

"Let's grow old together......and look back on life and smile."
Braxton Brown and Peggy Smith

A very special Paris moment pour moi.
