Sunday Church Series - Saint-Étienne-du-Mont

Certainly not the largest church in Paris but the architectural details are stunning. I scoot inside for a few minutes, every time I'm in the neighborhood.

If you've got the Panthéon on your list, this church is just behind.

We're all alike. Always waiting quietly for something to catch our eye. Sometimes it's the play of light and shadows, maybe it's a new angle on a subject we've photographed many times, or the decisive moment when we catch the unexpected.

Today we end our series of mausoleum doors in Paris. Perhaps I'll do another cemetery series in the future. Over the years I have visited many and have more images to share!

As I said yesterday, Cimetière de Passy, may be my favorite smaller resting place in Paris. Located just across the street from Palais de Chaillot, it's easy to include on your visit to the Eiffel Tower and the wonderful museums nearby.

Today, we move to my small but favorite, Cimetière de Passy. Located near Place de Trocadéro, , 

this is a wonderful way to tour a Paris cemetery while visiting other sites. It is small and lovely. It's probably my favorite.

If yesterday's doors were in my Top Ten, this might be Numéro 1. I love the soft color and the dried palm frond tucked in the grill.

TOday we move to the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise. I have visited many times and still feel like I just scratched the surface. It is enormous. If you are in Paris for a while, it's worth it. If you're only there for a few days, I'd tour Passy or Montparnasse.

Today begins a new mini series, mausoleum doors. This beautiful green door was found at the Cimetière du Montparnasse. In the coming weeks, we will visit many other resting places in Paris.

 A lesser known church located below Montmartre, has undergone some much need restoration and cleaning in the past few years. I loved the gentleman gently sweeping up in the background.
