There's An App For That!

From time to time I get hooked on a new photo app for my iPhone.  Yesterday I discovered Waterlogue and in one short day it's become a serious addiction.  Those of you who know me well,  know that I am not a fan of over saturated, over Photoshopped images, but I bit the dust on this one. Maybe it's because I'm am a frustrated watercolorist and now with the swipe of my finger, I can turn one of my photographs into a painting.  I'm not sure what, if anything,  I'll do with this new artistic ability except bore my Facebook friends to tears, but thought I'd share the app and photo today. Have fun and remember, it's addictive.

Oh, I love that! The first time I set foot in Paris, it was like I had walked into an impressionist painting. I could totally understand why impressionism came out of France.

That's an amazing rendering.

LOL, me, too, Virginia. I didn't want to upgrade to IOS7, but did on my iPad, just for this app!

I need to scout around and see what online photo programs will do that. (Alas, no pad or fun phone!). This is simply gorgeous!

Nice to know that I'm not the only one who still doesn't have the latest hand-held toys; just following all of my favorite bloggers takes up more of my time than I care to admit, and PTML is definitely on the list. :-) But I do have a few of my own Paris photos that it might be fun to look at through an "impressionist lens."

I can imagine that would be addictive!

Looks like a fun app. It would have been interesting to see the photo that was used to create this "impressionist painting". Makes one want to get out the watercolors --

Apps like this, although absolutely breathtaking in their artistic renderings, make me rather sad - I so love to get a REAL LETTER, I so treasure a real tiny painting, just for me or a scribble from somebody who wants to show me that I'm loved....
This app is so gorgeous, so perfect that I fear people will stop painting, or doing their creative stuff.... but then I also admit that I'm soon the only person living in France who has no iPhone, nor iPad and who's still doing their own photography, writing, mailing, phoning, cooking etc etc etc. Maybe you think I'm a sad person - maybe not, but I wouldn't buy this gadget for fear of 'ab- or over-using' it :)
