Last June, I was lucky enough to be in Paris for the June 20th Fête de la Musique. All of Paris is alive with the sound of music on every corner. That evening, after hearing a beautiful conert at the Madeline Church, I came up from the Saint Paul Mètro to the deafening, pounding beat of drums. As I approached the Église Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis, I found this talented drum corps. I managed to elbow my way right up beside them for photos. A wonderful night in Paris.

One year I'd like to plan a week in Paris for la Fête de la Musique. It looks like a great time!
They look so serious ... excellent composition on the drummer shot, Virg!
Ah music in Paris on a warm summers night, what could be better. I can't think of anything!!
So glad that we were there last year enjoying a long day of music and fun with friends... I missed this group but enjoyed our concert at La Madeleine.
What a fun find! With all that orange, I wonder if they were a visiting band from Holland??
This photo isn a symphony! Love the vibrant colors and can almost feel the vibrations of the drums! Fête de la Musique was a great experience I loved sharing with you and Genie.
Thanks for sharing your pictures and your memories from this wonderful event day in Paris!

Sounds like you really worked for this shot—or maybe you just worked everyone else over to get up close. :~} Totally worth it!
Love the fact that they're all (mostly) wearing ear plugs. Must have been some loud drumming ;-)
Nice, Virginia. I might find something like chamber music to be more sensitive and romantic, but a nice, loud drum and bugle band has a lot to recommend it, too. The same way a bagpipe band does.
Oh yes we have them here too - all dressed in orange and oh boy the noise they make!
Great contrast with the door behind.
Another interesting Paris experience that I've never had the pleasure of enjoying.
We just missed Fête de la Musique. It was on the 21st this year.
