Église St. Madeleine - les Jardins

This Sunday we are going back to Troyes, FR to stroll the beautiful gardens at Église St. Madeleine. When I visited last July, the garden was in full bloom. All of the flowers were white which I loved.

Gorgeous—and I appreciate these photos all the more given the hideous rainy weather we're having in NYC right now. Thanks for the lovely escape!

Have you been to the restaurant in the basement?

Oh, the crooked old bricks, the grime on the walls! And Starman, there's a restaurant in the basement? I'm aching to touch the ancient.

Starman, This is not the Madeleine Church in Paris , this is in Troyes and the church as pretty as it was , was in serious need of renovation. Pigeons were loose all up in the rafters. I can't imagine a restaurant there . Let me know. I'm interested!

What an inviting group of images, especially le premier, the gateway. Je l'aime bien! :)

Troyes is a fascinating city. Did you get a photo of that leaning house near the cathedral?

That will teach me to read the sub-script of your photos. My bad.

No wonder I've adorned my front yard with these flowers... I think I must've been part of the congregation here in a past life (a bit of a stretch, I know, but I'm sure you'll indulge my dreaming).
And in the last photo... the expanded version has me entranced by the wonderful stone exterior that has seen centuries of happenings. If only walls could talk.
