Les ballarines

Although I have tried, I've not toured the magical Palais Garnier. I have however, visited their lovely gift shop on many occasions and love to photograph their tutus. This last strip was no exception.

I share this photograph tonight as my very talented granddaughter, Chappell, will again be dancing many parts in the Magic City Nutcracker. If you live in the Birmingham area, you should attend!

Mobile Orange

Mobike is now giving Vélib a run for their euro. It just means more ways for Parisians to rent bikes in the city!

Le coucher du soleil

Oversaturated, photoshopped images of Paris are not my favorite. Many of you know that. When I loaded this image, I couldn't believe that this was straight out of my camera. Regardless, this is a view that I never tire of seeing. Paris, je t'aime.

Bus reflet

We love taking the bus around Paris. Not those endless Métro steps and you're above ground so you can enjoy the scenery!

Today I'm happy to be rejoining James' Weekend Reflections right HERE!

L'escalier

Novembre in Paris is almost as lush as summer months. We pushed open some doors to find this lovely.

Jour de pluie

It was raining the day we arrived. As we found the café next door, I spotted these lovely chairs, all stacked up. Waiting for a finer day.

Le croix

My obsession with Parisian vines continues from one trip to the next. The Marais is an especially fertile area for magnificent vines!

Les chats de Paris I

A mini series always develops each trip. This past trip, Paris chats appeared all over town. I"ll share them in the coming weeks. Today's chat, was the only one we saw as we strolled through Père Lachaise late one afternoon. I think he had just had a little chocolate chaud!

Après l'école

I enjoy watching the kiddos walking home for lunch or after school with their parents, grandparents or nannies.

Place des Vosges

One of the arched entryways into Place des Vosges. I loved the texture and colors. Reminded me of some restoration projects here in Birmingham that I have photographed.

Je suis revenu

I've just returned from a wonderful 8 days in Paris. We had rain and blue skies. As a friend said, "You don't go to Paris for the weather!" Absolutely.

We met friends for brunch near the Jardin du Luxembourg, so Mary and I forged on for a walk through the gardens in a light rain. This is one of my favorite places to photograph. The trees were spectacular, and this image reminds me of why I love these gardens so much. No pétanque players this year. Maybe another trip.

Joyeux Anniversaire, Eva!

Sweet memories of Eva on our second trip to Paris,  the summer of 2009, at the Palais Royal. I"m so grateful  to have loved two trips to Paris with her. Joyueux anniversaire, sweet girl.

Soon, very soon!

Merci, Galeries Lafayette for  your fabulous rooftop. We can't wait to visit again, next week!

City Daily Photo Theme Day - Friends

January, 2012, Peter and Mary and I were shooting,  and I apologized to this lovely lady for stepping in front of her shot. She replied that she and her friend had seen us on the Mêtro and at an exhibit that morning.  It turns out she is a faithful blog reader! She recognized me and Peter.! What a delightful encounter. Clista and her friend ran into us the very next day at the Pet Cemetery. It's a small and beautiful world.

Today I again join my City Daily Photobloggers for our monthly theme day. Click HERE to see their wonderful contributions.
