Bienvenue !

We have been fortunate that for the  last few years, our flat and our Metro stop was near this beautiful store. We especially love the convenience of La Grande Epicerie next door.

Été au Bois - Le petit jardin

One of the most charming areas of the Jardin d'Acclimatation, is the sweet little garden, which comes with its own charming épouvantail!

Été au Bois - Moto Envy

Today we revisit the delightful Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Bologne. Davis found plenty of Paris motor to ride in the amusement park.

Été au Bois

If you've never visited Paris with children then more than likely you have never experienced le Jardin d'Acclimatation! Located in the Bois de Bologne, it's a delightful place to spend the day with les enfants. It combines a charming little amusement park, boat rides, gardens, petting zoo and a playground with many activities for all ages. This climbing structure looked like la Tour Eiffel to us. Try and calculate how high it goes. The French have a more lenient approach to playgrounds!

Lêche - vitrine Palais Royal III

Today the delightful toy shop at the Palais Royal. I'd be willing to bet that there's not one toy inside that requires batteries!

Lêche-vitrine au Palais Royal II

The light and shadows playing on the wall were as eye catching as the jewelry in this boutique.

Lêche-vitrine au Palais Royal I

Today we begin another mini series, Window Shopping at the Palais Royal. Lêche-vitrine is the French for window shopping and literally translates to "lick the window"! The chi chi shops at the Palais Royal certainly have that effect on me!

Today, my favorite, Didier Ludot. Here you will find the most divine vintage couture items. The window always catches my eye.

City Daily Photos Theme Day - Music

How could I offer any other musician but Christian Bassoul! I met him and his band of singers and dancers in June, 2009, when my family found them on rue Mouffetard. For many of my trips to Paris, I make sure I"m there on Sundays. He is a Parisian treasure.

Today, I join my City Daily Photobloggers for this fun Theme Day!

Sundays on rue Mouffetard

Sundays on rue Mouffetard, a grand time is had by all, young and old. The locals show up and sing and dance, spectators join in the singing and some join in and dance as well. This petit enfant was giving it some thought!

Les toillet toters

This has to be one of my favorite street shots. I was sitting at a sidewalk café and watched these two go by. The guy in front clearly had the hardest job. The guy at the back, although dashing in his straw hat, was not much help. For those of us in the US who use our cars for every single errand, being a Parisian without a car, creates some very interesting ways to get home from the bricolage!

Très gentil

We wandered into a small courtyard in Montmartre and spotted this chair  beside the stairway as we left. The note above it was so typically French. They manage to get their point across in such a lovely way.

If you are tired before climbing the floors. Sit down. But don't leave with the chair!

Cimetière de Passy VI - L'ange

We often see mausoleum doors or grave markers with a flower tucked inside. I thought this lovely angel with the dried leaves was especially sweet.

Cimetière de Passy III - Les fleurs

Today is the 3rd in our series of Cimetière de Passy. As I have shared in previous posts, this is one of my favorite cemeteries as it's so convenient, small, yet lovely.  This day in January, Peter, Mary and I visited just after a rainfall. The raindrops on these lilies was too beautiful to pass up.

Cimetière de Passy II - La porte ouverte

Today, the second in the Passy series. The mausoleums here are beautiful. I think I could publish and entire book of just the doors. I especially loved the blue palm fronds and wreath on the doors and the shadows inside.
