Livres anciens

If you love old book stores, you will be very happy in Paris. Sadly, many keep unusual hours, so often they are not open when I happen by. This shop in the Saint Paul area of the Marais, was one I had to admire through the window.

Lèche-vitrine

The French phrase for window shopping is "lèche-vitirne" (to lick the window). Very fitting for the abundance of gorgeous shops that Paris offers.

Au Marché de la Butte

Amélie shopped here. I think it might have been spruced up a bit since I took this photo a few years ago.

Pour le bébé

Our first trip to Paris as we wandered behind the Musée d'Orsay, we stumbled upon, Bonpoint,  a gorgeous shop. I've never forgotten the beautiful baby clothes pressed between glass, hanging in the window. To me this said, "Paris."

Huile d'olive

Olivier and Co. shops can be found across Paris. Good selections of oils etc. Photo ops are an added plus.

Les savons

Peter and I stepped inside this charming little honey shop in Butte aux Cailles. The owner was very kind and allowed me to poke around with my camera. I need to go back and buy soaps for all my friends at home!

Lèche-vitrine

Wandering the streets of the 6 eme, I stopped to admire this creative window.  Reminded me of my extensive scarf collection!

Tools of the Trade

We're poking around a little passageway near the Bastille, and I peer through the window and spot this work table. The tools of an artisan who repairs and  restores old furniture.

Bobines de ruban

Oh we're back at Ultramod, two of my favorite shops in Paris. This shop, offers thread, buttons, trim and ribbon of all kinds. Across the street, you will find every millinery item you might need for exquisite hats.

Paris Rouge - Losco

Ceintures Losco, located in the Marais is  yet another specialty shop of fine craftsmanship you find all over Paris. The worktable, neat and orderly is where the exquisite leather belts are crafted. Also for purchase, many beautiful buckles. There is another location on rue de Sèvres in the 6eme.

L'ange et les Tours

One of my favorite, very quirky shops in Paris is Tombées du Camion (fell off the truck). I first found it in Montmartre years ago. Imagine my delight to find not one but two locations when we visited the Marché aux Puces. If you want unusual, this is the place for you. You will thank me for this.

Les meringues

Aux Merveilleux de Fred, heavenly meringues and brioche is a most charming shop. This night, just two nights after the terrorists attacks in Paris, Parisians were lined up out the door to purchase these delights. I had hoped to get inside for more photos, but had to be satisfied with pressing my lens against the windows.

La boutique de parfum

While wandering around the 6eme, I stepped into Le Labo, perfumes et scents. The very handsome and very friendly young man behind the counter could have sold me just about everything in the shop, but alas as always, un problème....euros.

Oh là là !

Located just a stone's throw from the Louvre, Chantal Thomass is a divine little shop filled to the brim with Parisian unmentionables.  Have a look at their delightful window. I'm  sure this window stops traffic on a daily basis.
