Notre Dame...

is always a good idea. That said, if you're visiting at peak tourist season, consider getting the jump on the queue by arriving at opening hour. This is a church that no visitor wants to miss, but if you have to choose between long hours in line and a very short time in Paris, there are many amazing churches to visit.

Trop de Pluie - Paris Rouge

As the SE is reeling from Hurricane Irma and the state of Texas recovers from the hell of Hurricane Harvey, my city of Birmingham is expecting the aftermath of Irma for the next two days. Whatever she brings, it won't be anything like the devastation that Texas and Florida, as well as all of the islands in the Caribbean have experienced. If you feel you can contribute, there are many organizations taking donations and money to help.

If I don't post for a day or two, it may mean we've lost power here.  Birmingham is a beautiful city full of old, gorgeous  trees that like to take down power lines. I"ll stay in touch!

CDP Theme Day - WET

Today my City Daily Photobloggers around the world are posting their favorite photo on this month's theme....RAIN right here.. It was a no brainer for me. I"m reposting one of my favorite photos taken from the second floor window of our favorite apartment on rue Saint Roch. It's also the cover photo of my book, Paris Rouge. If you'd like to have a look, the link is on the sidebar!

Sunday Church Series - Église Saint-Etienne-du-Mont

The other day, a friend reminded me of the movie, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS. I took this photograph in the pouring rain early one evening in Paris. These are the steps beside Saint Étienne du Mont,  where the Gil was picked up each evening at midnight.

Rainy Night in Paris...again

I could probably fill an entire month with rain in Paris photos. We embrace it and accept it as a part of the city we love.

Pluie à Paris

As we exited the Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre metro, it was gently raining. If memory serves, not one of us had an umbrella. Oh well, the reflections made up for the rain!

Today I happily join James' Weekend Reflections right here!

Runner Up

Yesterday was CDP Theme Day and as you know, the theme was UPSIDE DOWN. This was my runner up, a green chair at Tuileries after a shower.

Bienvenue

It was cold and rainy but the warm glow of this café near the Panthéon, begged us to stop in.

Le quai

"It's Paris, it raining." I heard that my first trip to Paris in 2007. Some things never change.  Of course it does, and you seize the moment to capture the reflections, the mood.  Paris at it's best I think.

I Love Paris...

when it drizzles.  If you love Paris, and travel there often, you know rain is going to be in the forecast. Embrace it and the fabulous reflections.

I Love Paris When It Drizzles

Let's just face it. When you travel to Paris, it's probably going to rain at some point.  This lovely couple were from Australia and sat next to us at lunch that day.  A few blocks down the street I caught them sharing an umbrella.

Sing along with me, "I love Paris in the winter when it drizzles.  I love Paris every moment, every moment of the year."

Un reflet - Le Louvre

We all know that the rain in Paris is a given , but after......the reflections make it all worth it, n'est-ce pas?  The pigeon helps.

Parapluie Rouge II

Many of you might remember this umbrella from the cover of my book, Paris Rouge Through My Lens   While searching around in my photos yesterday, I found this shot that I'd also taken and never given a thought to after I found the other.  She was in a hurry as she rushed below my perch in the window above her, but something caught her eye in the shop across the street.

Tuileries From Above - Jumping Puddles

Last January as Peter and I went round and round on the grand roue at Place de la Concorde, I captured this view of Tuileries and the Louvre in the background.  It was a chilly and drizzly day as you can see from all the puddles scattered along the way.

Congratulations to Magdariana for being my 600th Follower!  Thank you all for your faithful visits to this blog!!!
