Grues sur le Louvre

Normally I would never take this shot, but my friend Wayne, Meandering in Lotusland (Vancouver), is a crane fanatic, so this lovely Sunday morning I took this just for him.  Of course we had no idea what the cranes were for, but Peter had a look and said there might be some major reno going on or an upcoming exhibit. Regardless, it is always nice to see what's being spiffed up around Paris!

I'd like to imagine that it is a rich family getting their renovation done...so that I can move in with them! Hahaha! A girl can dream.

Nice shot V. I like to see the variety of scenes in Paris

Looks very charming, despite being old and delapidated. That's what Paris'll do for you...

I really like the contrast of the modern crane with the gothic cathedral ---

Hope your knee is feeling better!

Thank M, but I don't think it is! I simply don't have the time to fool with a Dr. at this point. I'm having to beg friends to lend a hand I'm afraid!

jb, old and dilapidated, you just couldn't leave that alone could you! HA

Brittany,
Thanks, I thought it was fun too.

always wonder how they managed in the pre-"grues' days !

Love the flag flying on the crane. Back in the '60s, my walk to work took me past the Louvre and I watched as the place was sand-blasted bit by bit and brought back from almost black to pretty and pristine.

Well, I wonder if this will bring "Crane-Wayne" out of Vancouver for a little comment. Very nice with blue skies!

Fanatic????

I'd expect to find a major project going on beneath a crane like that. Otherwise a mobile crane would be brought in.

Wayne, OUI FANATIC. Who else would know a mobile crane from a real one???

It's difficult to imagine a European city without a few (dozen) of these scattered about.

Beautifully captured... The sight of these cranes can be pretty sore to the eyes but with such lovely foreground it really does not matter!!!
Have a lovely sunday:)

I believe it may be connected to the restoration of one of the inner courtyards, the Visconti one, but I'm not sure. Anyhow, there is alsways something going on; the restoration work around the Louvre never seems to end.
