I am a former elementary school teacher, a full-time photographer, part-time painter, lover of all things French ( whose français is slowly improving), obsessive Paris traveler, enthusiastic art museum volunteer, grateful community volunteer, and grandmother to 5 delightful grandchildren.
I fell in love with Paris in March 2007. It was as the French say, le coup de foudre : love at first sight. As a result of that trip, my photography took another direction. Since that time I have pursued a career of sorts in photography and dreamed of returning to the City of Light. November 2008 found me strolling the streets of Paris once again. My first visit I was so overwhelmed with the incredible beauty of the city, I photographed it as a "tourist". My 2008 trip I looked at Paris with a different eye. I wanted to capture the unique, the small details, and oh yes - the people! This blog was started as a photo diary of that trip. I was thrilled to return to Paris and the French countryside in June and July of 2009, and blogged daily while there. I've returned to the city I love in June, 2010 , January 2011 and January 2012! Each time I visit, it feels more and more like home, and I discover new and interesting things with each trip. I cherish the time with my Paris friends as well as the friends that always join me there. Paris may well be a moveable feast, but I think it's best savored in person! Someone told me that once you have been to Paris, you will leave a piece of your heart. I left mine right there, but I brought home some wonderful memories. It is my pleasure to share them with you.

Interesting to contemplate why so many choose the cross to decorate their gravesites! Quite a display.
Apt photo for Good Friday.
Beautiful choice for today, dear V.
I must agree, this is a great photo for today. Quite sombre. I like that it is in black and white too
Agreed—perfect choice for today. And I love it in b&w.
So many details to look at in this beautiful shot. Thanks Virginia!
Solemn, thoughtful choice for this day. Sometimes I think that Paris has more crosses than Rome and almost sure that there are more angels.
You do have a photographer's eye -- great composition.
There doesn't seem to be enough room to fit mine in there.
love your photos
Ah, les cimetières de Paris... des sujets à l'infini
Nice choice for Good Friday. I didn't find something I liked, so I am secular today. Isn't it interesting that all of these crosses are different?
