Joyeux Anniversaire Amérique!

Yes, a petite version of our Lady Liberty resides in Paris!  This is the original "life size" cast.  She stands 15 feet tall in the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens, home of the French Senate.  This was architect/sculptor Batholdi's miniature mold for our American Statue of Liberty.

I can't believe that I've missed seeing this on my visits to the Luxembourg Gardens......

The b&w photo really shows off the facial features of Our Lady Liberty.

Happy Fourth to you!

Oh! «Louis» didn't know about this model! There's a lot to explore in le Jardin du Luxembourg. However, «Louis» has visited model of Lady Liberty in la Seine.
