Ah, I see in the first photo that you've lost control of your "spot" of red in this one (but regained it in your last. Beautiful photos of what must've been a delightful and dreamy meal experience! David
Daryl, It was shrimp and vegetables in a lemon sauce I think. Maybe my friend Mary can remember, we had the same thing. BTW, I want everyone to know I ate my first escargots while in Paris and lived to tell it. Peter was kind enough to share his. Amazing what some garlic and butter can do!
I had an occasion to experience thos outdoor heaters at Le Petit Pont in the Quartier Latin. I was very pleasantly surprised at their output. It became so warm, I had to remove my jacket.
Starman, the heaters weren't on most of the time. We didn't just love the chilly days but now that I'm home in the heat wave here in B'ham, I'd kill to be back in Paris where it's cooler. Actually, I like to be back regardless, but you knew that didn't you!
Nathalie, Thanks and your flower shot was just grand today. You and I have this shadow thing going. We would have fun shooting together I think. And surprisingly, I don't really ever suffer from jetlag. I have waked up at the normal time both mornings. I'm grateful for that.
I am having trouble picking my favorite--these are all so gorgeous. And, yes, it's amazing what garlic and butter can do; makes you think about snails in a whole new way.
Jean HA!!! Yes the garlic and butter and did I mention a generous amount of red wine and a little champagne preceeded the "Escargot Tasting Event"?? Ohh la la!
I am a former elementary school teacher, a full-time photographer, lover of all things French ( whose French is slowly improving), obsessive Paris traveler, enthusiastic church and community volunteer, and grandmother to 5 delightful grandchildren.
I fell in love with Paris in March 2007. It was as the French say, le coup de foudre : love at first sight. As a result of that trip, my photography took another direction. Since that time I have pursued a career of sorts in photography and dreamed of returning to the City of Light. November 2008 found me strolling the streets of Paris once again. My first visit I was so overwhelmed with the incredible beauty of the city, I photographed it as a "tourist". In 2008 I returned and I looked at the city with more of a photographer's eye. I wanted to capture the unique, the small details, and oh yes - the people! This blog was started as a photo diary of that trip, but I have been most fortunate to return to the city j'adore 15 times since. Each time I leave, I wipe a tear and start planning my list for the next trip. Paris may well be a moveable feast, but I think it's best savored in person! Someone told me that once you have been to Paris, you will leave a piece of your heart. I left mine right there, but I brought home some wonderful memories. It is my pleasure to share them with you.

You must be exhausted but isn't it wonderful to think that you'll be back in July. Feels like tomorrow !
COngratulations on your Birmingham blog's first anniversary. It's quite an achievement, isn't it?
Sleep well, I hope the jetlag isn't too nasty. The great thing is, if you wake up in the middle of the night, blogging awaits round the corner !
(and you were right of course about my blue flower, it was the shadow that attracted my eye :-)))
Oh and I forgot to say: love those reds!
I want the red room. Twin Peaks anyone.

I hope you were waring red shoes when you took these!
B2,
How did you know I love red shoes???ha
Red is the color of my true love's hair.
No, not really. That phrase just came to me when looking at these photos. The staircase is amazing! You didn't play with that in Photoshop, did you?
I love all the photos! Every single one of them!
Jacob,
I'm not smart enough to be jazz anything up in Photoshop!HA The color all over was rather disconcerting when you walked down those stairs!!
