I have to laugh, Virginia, because just the other day I took a picture of a bird weathervane abd discovered within a few seconds that one of the birds was real. :D I think most monuments/lamp posts everywhere have pigeons on them that have become 'melded' into them.

What a glorious day with friends that was! Your b/w shot gives the feel of times past. Glad you were not photographing the rappers on the steps of this magnificent building! Mary was with us also... thanks for the lovely reminder of "fun in Paris!"

What is true by lamplight is not always true by sunlight - Joseph Joubert 1754 - 1824. fascinating photo.

Were you early..or were they late? Even when you pause..not much gets by you. This is beautiful...Like that you used black and white. It's timeless...

What a great view and a great photo of it! I just wonder whose job it is to wash off the top of the lantern?
Je te souhaite une bonne journee, V!

Well seen! I think it would be possible to make a blog about Paris lampposts only! It would of course include a number of pigeons and seagulls as well! :-)

This photograph is a classic, Virginia, although it also looks like one I took in Florence.
