Only the French would dedicate a
day to the delightfully scrumptious confection...le macaron!
Pierre Hermé started this lovely day in 2005 and of course it continues. It's no secret that I'm a huge fan. I just regret that I'm not in Paris today with my macaron expert Genie au'jourd hui!

Incredibly delectable! Yaow!
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...........
I bought my macarons locally yesterday. I couldn't wait so I ate three. Today - will I eat five? Scrumptious photo.
Wouldn't we all love to be in Paris today!!!!
I wish I was eating macarons today (in Paris)... I wish I was making macarons today as I have new flavors to try... I wish we were all eating macarons today in Paris!!

Great shot! Just look at that presentation ...I can hear the crunch of the outer shell of that pistashio one...oh la la!
I love macarons! I wish I could be in Paris for "le jour du macaron"!
Vreni, I think Genie summed it up for all of us! A group of us enjoying our favorite flavor in Paris together!
Genie,
My fav is still your pistache with Nutella buttercream. Miam miam!
Jeanne,
You described it perfectly.
Elizabeth,
To heck with will power!
Harriet,
What is your fav flavor?
32 and Cinthia,
You're right of course.
Weekend,
Oui, Ladurée sont délicieux mais cher!!!
Bon dimanche,
V
I'm ashamed to say I've never tried these, but I will correct that when I get a chance!
And don't forget a side order of champagne...eh, Virginie?
Yum!
God bless you!

Happy Sunday Virginia!
I've never tasted macarons they look delectable.
Hugs Jane
Do you know I have never had a macaron?! I never heard of them till I started blogging and another blog makes them all the time. Maybe I should try making them one day!
Das bewundere ich bei den Französen-egal womit sie sich beschäftigen,am Ende entsteht immer ein Kunstück!
Schön,bunt,fein und bestimmt lecker!
Danke für das tolle Foto!
liebe Grüße
don't think I've ever been to Hermé, but maybe when we're there in June. It takes me a couple of days to finish off a big macsaron.
For all of you that say they are too sweet or that you have never tasted, I say you must try them once. I will admit, that one will be quite enough as I'm not a huge sweet eater. If made well they are wonderful. If they are a day or two old, they are too chewy and just not good! My dear blog friend Genie, Paris and Beyond, brought be a whole box of hers last spring. I put them in the fridge and ate one a day for over a week. They were divine!
Obviously some are more aware about this than others! I completely missed the day! But any day is good for a macaron or two! :-)
Miam! Seriously—they couldn't wait a few days for me to get there? Oh well. Every day is le Jour du Macaron, n'est-ce pas, Virginia?
Re yesterday's great photo: Reason to perfect your French—to give as good as you get!
Alexa
Oh I can't wait for you to get there. Will you keep me posted every day????
And I do need to learn some more bad French words. I know one! :)
I had a macaroon about a year ago and it was the best piece of jewel I've had!
Mmmmmm...Pistachio and Nutella...I think that would be my favorite too Virginia!!!
You don't have a sweet tooth by any chance ???
