I've been fortunate to do two night shoots at the Louvre. In the evening it's a magical place to be. The pyramids sparkle like giant diamonds! I think I might have shot this at the same time as the photograph below.

Can we take a bottle of bubbly and sit there and drink it? Or will the gendarmes come and arrest us?
I'm game, you?
Arrested for drinking Champagne in Paris? That just seems all wrong! (Though I do know that you can picnic in Pere Lachaise but can't drink wine there.) This shot is just as magical as yesterday's—even with a little help from your friends, you have a very steady hand, Virginia!
Beautiful shot!!!! Love the lights and the contrast of the old (La Louvre) and the new!!!
Your photos of Paris are so colorful and vibrant. What a difference from mine – I just published a post showing some drab dark postcards of the flooding in Paris 100 years ago. It’s hard to imagine the Louvre under water, but I have a postcard on that too.
Vagabonde, I have plenty of gray, rainy Paris photos!
ALexa, Surely we won't get dragged off for sipping at the Louvre. I"ve done it at nearby Tuileries! :)
Mary, I'm game!
Chieftess,
It's hard to take a bad photo at the Louvre!
This is a great shot, and right beside the Louvre is not a bad place to have a few sips of bubbly.
This is fantastic. I love the shapes and light.
Starman and T. Becque,
Thank you, I"m pleased you liked them. Hopefully, bubbly to come. If it happens, I'll have some photos.

I love the 'filament' look the wires/grid/lines give it
The twilight and the framing make this an interesting variant on a popular theme
That place is definitely magical, Virginia. I do like your perspective on it.
