Counting Euros, Counting My Blessings

Oh I'm truly blessed with wonderful blog friends. Today I'm counting the Euros left from my last trip in January, but much, much more. I'm also counting my blessings. A dear blog reader has been generous enough to share a roundtrip ticket to Paris that he won and could not use. I am forever grateful. Because of this wonderful gift, I will be off to Paris en juin!!! Of course I plan to take you all with me , virtually!

Mon amie Mary advised me to NEVER turn in my Euros when I come home. She said, "Save them, they will be your little gift when you return to Paris again." Indeed. I found these in a coin purse, and some nice bills as well. Je vous remercie mes chers amis!

I knew you were going to leave the tip, but I didn't think you'd leave it in coins!

Oh. My. Gosh. Virginia, I'm so happy for you ~ and what a kind and generous gesture of your dear blog reader. Woohoo! I'm guessing some of those euros will go towards at least one macaron.

And the dollar is getting more and more value so you will have more euros this time ! How long will you stay ?

I find the reverse side of the coins fascinating -- a little insight into how each country wants to see itself. Trying to collect all of them is fun.

Oh, Virginia, how lovely for you. I miss Paris so much and can hardly bear to read all the French blogs. Trying to get my house in order this year and hope to be able to go back in 2011.

Have a wonderful time and take more delightful photos.

What a perfect post...it's been a week since I've been able to allow myself the pleasure of your blogs and I'm working backwards from today. I CANNOT wait to saunter around Paris avec toi! And the Divine Peter...will he want to join in???

I always try to bring some euros back with me, but somehow they always seem to disappear before I leave the airport, and I end up with maybe €20.

Mary gave you very good advice, because there will always be the 'next' trip -- even if you have no idea when or how it will happen.

Oh to have the jingle of euros in your pocket in just a few weeks! I'm thrilled for you and am in awe of your generous blog reader who donated the ticket. Yipee for you! (And for us, who will reap the reward of more fabulous photos from Paris.) I always make sure to return home with at least 10 euros, which will get me from the airport to Paris on the bus.

What a generous gesture. I am so happy for you—and at the same time absolutely bright green with envy! Will you be there for Eric's PDP pique-nique?

Oh wow. You ARE blessed, Virginia. I'd say you're on Cloud 9. And for me, yes, I keep all my change, euros and dollars/coins, for all my back-n-forths. I call it back-up and sometimes it's a nice surprise. :)

It seems that you have enough to offer me a coffee!

Ginnie,
Yes I am on Cloud 9!

Peter,
Eva helped me count it and I think there might be even enough to offer you a verre de vin rouge!

Starman,
I usually come home with about 2 Euros! I got lucky last trip.

Alexa,
Sadly I'll get there after the PDP affair! :(

Laurent,
9 very short days!
