Automne á Paris ou á Birmingham?

This is a first on both of my blogs. Today I feature photographs from Paris and my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. I appreciate the similarities between the two places I love the most. Want to guess? Is it Euro Birmingham or Southern Paris???

Could the top partial archway be in Birminghame and the lower building wing be in Paris. They are both very beautiful both in brickwork and in their autumnal dress.

I'll take a guess and concur with Julie. Those bricks in the first photo are more uniform than I'd imagine for Paris, though stranger things could happen. :) I love your idea to show both, Virginia.

Isn't that curious? I was thinking just the reverse. The top is Paris, the bottom is Birmingham. But there's not much on which to make a decision.

i'd guess top Birmingham, bottom Paris but you could be fooling us.

Love autumnal colors wherever they may be!

My opinion matches the majority. Either way, they are both spectacular photos! I can almost smell the drying leaves. Love that.

Well merci mes amis for all your comments. The top is my daughter Melissa's courtyard right here in Birmingham. The bottom is of course the fabulous Musée Carnavalet in le Marais in Paris. I was fascinated that the Virginia Creeper ( Boston Ivy) type vine grows in both places. In autumn it is just marvelous.

Glad to know I was right, along with many others. Yes, I've that virginia creeper growing up the back of my house. It's shadier there and so is happy.
