Le Petit Zinc

Today my guest photographer is Allan Gray.  Allan and I met when he wrote to ask me for some apartment suggestions in Paris for his next trip.  After a few emails, we discovered that we share the same addiction....Paris!  Imagine that.  Allan kindly shared this photo of one of his favorite places, le Petit Zinc, in the 5eme near Deux Maggot.  I do believe I peered in at the great zinc bar on my trip in November '08!  Now after hearing his recommendation, I'm adding it to my next "Must Do" list.

I'm including a photo of Allan. He captioned it: "Outside of 'Little Italy' on rue Rambuteau wondering why I don't live here." I laughed and told him I have had the same thought many, many times!

Merci Allan,  for giving me the day off and sharing your photos with us

For my Birmingham area readers I will be offering another series of photography classes. Designed for amateur photographers with any type digital/film camera who want to be more creative and learn to take better family and vacation photos.

Love Allan's photo AND your photo of him. This will be a great place to visit on your next trip Virginia. Love everything about this place - the doors, the colour of the restaurant, the paintings of course. I'd like to eat here.

How could I have missed this place? It is perfectly Paris with the art deco revolving doors and awning, tiles and paintings... plus there must be a zinc bar inside!

Thank you, Allan, and how nice to find another Paris addict...

Must repeat Genie's comment: How could I have missed this place? I always stay in the 5e so I will make a point to stop in on my next trip. Great photo - love all the details. Thanks Allan.

Hi, I'm back... This is only one block from the hotel on Rue Jacob and we did not walk down this street. The terrasse can be seen from the St. Germain corner even! The exterior façade was created by Hector Guimard and is in the 6ième arr.

I don't remember le Petit Zinc, though I have been to Les Deux Magots several times.

Maria, actually he's an actor. That's pretty close!:)

Starman,
We were in a hurry in 08 when we past it. After hearing about it from Allan, I think this place will be visited by a lot of bloggers now! Maybe they'll give him a glass of champagne when he goes back for the free PR!

Pamela,
Sigh, Paris is dreamy.
