French Comics???

I must be honest. I took this shot because I found the wall art funky and fun, no other reason. On closer inspection last evening,  I noted what appears to be the name of the artist, Tardi ( Jacques Tardi), a French cartoonist.  At the bottom the word Futuropolis led me to a Google search here.  Perhaps I should be more attentive to the reasearch on this blog, but often this whole thing happens late, and I do what I can. Perhaps I can ratchet up the southern charm and get Peter to see what he can uncover. I'm just betting he will find some answers!

Don't think I can add much to what you have already found... I would believe that this is just promotion of a new album of Tardi, but if you tell me where you found this billboard, I could try to check. It doesn't seem to be a billboard by the dominating agencies (JCDécaux, Avenir...), so maybe it's something "different".

Wall art is fun! Kind of reminds me of one of the Beatles. You think he may be saying...sink or swim??

I like it...the desperation in his eyes...wonder if he will unveil a followup to this...good art work, good ad! Throw him a lifesaver!

I agree with Jeanne—it looks a lot like John Lennon. The artwork itself was totally worth a shot, and I'll be curious to see if you (or Peter) can uncover more.

It's Dr Foster!
'Dr Foster
Went to Gloucester
In a shower of rain.
He stepped in a puddle
Right up to his middle,
And never went there again.'

Do you know that nursery-rhyme Virginia?

Actually 'it's really cool' is what my 7 year old grand-daughter would say! Though I'm with Jeanne & Alexa, he reminds me of Lennon.

I laughed at your comment on my blog V, hope you have a good Sunday! ;)

I see I'm not the only one who noticed the resemblance to John Lennon.
