French Stranger #74
Mary, Richard and I wandered into
Librairie Scaramouche from Passage Molière and Richard was right, a real treasure trove it was. Filled to the brim with vintage posters, postcards, books and movie paraphernalia. Monsieur behind the counter gave me a rather blasé look when I snapped the first photograph, but I wandered around and came back and this time I don't think he minded so much. Is that just a hint of a smile???

Great portrait and lighting with a touch of rouge. His mood? Uh, not so sure, but love his interesting look.

It is always difficult for me to approach a stranger for his photograph. But this is your 75th stranger! Wow!
I love it.
(...been visiting your blog for a while now, just now I decided to leave a comment. I wanted to visit France soon.)
A smile? hmmm, not so sure about that.
Confronted by such a lovely lady, how could he not smile?
Yes, I see the hint of a smile. I love the arrangement of posters in the background too, adding to the ambiance of the setting. Wonderful image!
Yep...I'd say he's thinkin' the photographer's pretty cute!!! ('Specially that charming southern accent of hers!)
He's trying sooo hard not to smile but you got him!!!
Your comment( on my blog) had me laughing out loud last night !!!
A little bit the same expression as the lady on the poster in the background! :-)
Peter,
Oh just wait, I have some very interesting movie posters coming up at a later time! :)
Um, a trest petit hint. Wonderful eclectic place ... must put on list ... lovely portrait!
He was humoring you, I think! But I bet he'd like this portrait if you went back and gave him a copy. Do you ever do that? Tres bien fait, V!
Hm, he looks typically French to me so it's difficult to tell. I bet if he saw your blog though, he'd smile for you.
Hah...and there I am in the background witnessing your Southern Charms..."Monsieur, un petit photo svp?" I think that Peter is right - he seems to be saying "I have no choice, now do I?"
I think his eyes are smiling :)
Lynne,
I'd like to think so! :)
