Blogfest Paris Style

Peter, JB, Owen
Mary
Apparently the Blogger gremlins are still at it . I now see that the Thursday post is under the Wednesday post. Well I'm adding a little petite cadeau pour toi, a glimpse at our blogger gathering today! The mileage award goes to JB (Mainz Daily Phot0) who jetted in for the day and arrived in time to share a ride with mon amie Mary from Cincinnati this morning. After coffee, we (finally) found Peter ( Peter's Paris ) and Owen ( Magic Lantern Show) for a grand walkabout. We stopped for lunch and champagne at Petit Bofinger and then on to a street market and some sights in the Marais. In a steady rain we bid au revoir to JB so he could catch his flight. After a nice glass of wine at Dome St. Paul, Peter and Owen boarded the Metro as well. A really good day with old and new friends!
And ummmm oui, I know this isn't a great photo, but I was balancing an umbrella well trying to take the picture! I guess I proved you CAN take a bad photo in Paris!

You did a great job. I love the composition.

Thanks for letting us know the location of the other photo; otherwise, I would have missed it.

Hey now... the San Gabriel Valley blogger clan might get a bit jealous over this photo... You're just gonna have to come back to SoCal so we can show you an even BETTER good time!!!

Looks like fun, Virg. Have a glass of that champagne pour moi.

What fun that you've already had a blogger get-together! Looks like everyone is having a wonderful time, even with the rain. How's the mood there after France's loss to Mexico?

Hooray for friendships near and far. So glad you all could enjoy each others' company, despite the rain. I will sure follow your adventures with interest. Hope you continue to have a blast.

PS- you can't go back to SoCal/Pasadena until you've made at least one foray to the Pacific Northwest! We get you next!

Au contraire—everyone looks so happy! I'll bet they're thrilled to be in your "bad" photo. Say, are you going to have Champagne every day you're there? :~}

How lovely to see these smiling faces, V! JB sure is a jetsetter ~ he'd be home again faster than the jetlag.

Oh Virg, this just slapped a big ole smile on my face. What lovely people, and everyone's laughing so you much have said something terribly southern and funny.

Laurie, let's get ready to rumble -- We're starting to feel competitive out here.

Peter's not laughing, but then, you know, he's a Swede.

A very big THANK YOU to you Virginia for making this day happen, it was a real pleasure to meet you, and Mary, and JB, and to see Peter again !

And a special Thank You to Mary for suggesting the Picpus Cemetery, which I did go directly to visit after leaving you by St Paul there. It was still open. What a surprising experience to see Lafayette's tomb, as well as the tombs of many other aristocratic French families there, and the mass graves of the guillotine victimes from 1794. Will do a post about it very shortly.

Hope you and Mary have a fabulous time in Paris, can't wait to see the traces of the further mischief you are sure to get up to...

That's curious. I know I left a comment here and now it's gone. Anyway, my comment was: it's the subjects in the picture that are important.

I follow your adventures with delight, Virginia. If this is a bad photo I'm in big trouble!
